Please help! I've searched and searched and haven't found a fix. I'm having the worst time as I'm new to all of this.

I am planning to triple boot my laptop with Yosemite, Windows 8, and Ubuntu 14. I can install Windows and ubuntu fine but I can't get Yosemite for the life of me. I don't need help on multibooting -- yet haha. And I know that I must completely wipe my drive and install os x first, then the other 2.

Im my virtual machine with mavericks, I'm creating a Yosemite USB drive just fine, and I get a success message. The problem is that the drive never shows up in my bios! I know USB drives can because windows and Linux ones have before.I have also tried the legacy USB option in unibeast with no avail

I am using a q550lf Asus laptop. Please help!!

It is not hard with clover. You likely did not install clover on the flash drive. Do not forget to mount the EFI partition when you have installed it so you can boot from the computer without flash drive.

Thanks! It definitely makes sense that I'd have to use uefi instead of legacy as there was no legacy boot option in my bios. It all makes sense now. I'm trying clover now and I'll tell you guys if it worked or not!

With no legacy option, it likely indicates you don't have UEFI boot capability...

Please provide complete details in your profile.

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Updated my profile!

Yep and clover boots from my USB! :D I haven't installed osx quite yet, though. Unibeast is still copying files. I'll let you know what happens!
