OS X 10.10.2 Update

Working!

Sort of.....

Issues:

I lost my handoff support on my BT card. I have the one listed on the Ebay link in the first post of this thread ( http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...emite-handoff-capable-bluetooth-adapters.html )

If anyone knows how to fix it in Clover, I would greatly appreciate it.

Working:

To get my GTX 980 working. I used Clover Configurator to remove the Nvidia driver option in the config file (so it used default drivers). I then updated, booted back into OS X. Then I installed the Web Driver, turned back on the Nvidia driver support in the config file, and rebooted.

Everything worked great.

Here's my report of the update with Clover and an nVidia Maxwell card (GTX 750). I installed with the 10.10.2 Combo updater and rebooted. Thanks to other folks' reports I knew I would need to boot with "nv_disable=1" until I updated the nVidia drivers as well. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough - the boot got stuck with a spinning beach ball. So I booted with "nv_disable=1 -x" and that did the trick. I then installed the new nVidia drivers and rebooted again. Everything appeared to work - TRIM support survived the update (because it's done with a Clover injection).

But then I checked the audio, and there were no devices available. I thought that the audio patches were supposed to survive the update as well, since they are also done with Clover. But they didn't work, so I decided to delete the existing patches from the Clover config.plist file (just to avoid any possible confusion) and then I reran toleda's audio_CloverALC patch file. After I rebooted again, all is well.

That card works OOB. No kext or fixes needed. Try reseating the card. Is it reporting in About my Mac?

So, I was able to update everything properly; I'm using Clover, so everything went smoothly outside of having to redo the audio patch.

But now Clover is ignoring my Timeout=0 setting. I don't understand it! If I boot, it always shows the Clover GUI wether I want it to or not. The hard drive name is still correct... I tried enabling Fast boot but when I booted up it gave me a weird blue screen with three boot options. Did I mess something up? I even reverted to an older config.plist file to see if that would help but no dice. Did anyone else have this issue doing the update?

Hmmm..

Ya, nothing has changed at all since I've updated. It was working an hour ago on 10.10.1. After the update I noticed handoff was no longer working.

Handoff Supported: No
Instant Hotspot Supported: No

Not sure why....

It is my only WiFi / Bluetooth card, and bluetooth is still working as it can see my iPhone in "Bluetooth Settings".

Updated through App Store as a normal Mac would, no problems. I have been awaiting this update for its bluetooth audio/ video sync fix and can confirm that it does fix that issue. (there was an increasing delay in audio over bluetooth when playing a video) This was important as I have no supported sound card and use bluetooth exclusively.

Using clover on a Z68XP-UD3 and the UEFI bios. i7 2600k, nVidia GTX 670.

For anyone wondering the motherboard listed does have supported on-board audio, but because of my Windows use with this computer I have another sound card installed and the on-board disabled. I mostly wanted to confirm for anyone wanting to know if the bluetooth audio sync issue was fixed.

Did the combo update and installed the drivers for my 970. Everything worked okay with a 14,2 system definition in 10.10.1, but I couldn't get 15,1 to work completely and didn't think to use RootUID until I had updated. I have a 4690k so 15,1 would definitely be better but it's not playing well with my GPU. When I changed to 15,1 I would get black screens after the apple boot screen on both 10.10.1 and 10.10.2. Sometimes I can boot fully when I use PCIRootUID=1, but it's not consistent at all even with the PCIRootUID in boot.plist. Sleep doesn't work either, the screen goes black and everything keeps running. I might roll back to 10.10.1 and try 15,1 with PCIRootUID just to be sure it's not the update. Maybe it's just my imagination, but when 15,1 does boot it looks way smoother then 14,2.

Would like to report that the update using the App store worked okay on my system. I am using Chimera boot loader with FileNVRAM module and all is working fine so far after reboot.

Updated to 10.10.2 with no problems (via App Store). Repaired disk permissions before and after the update.

In Multibeast: Re-enabled TRIM support (since the new update disables it) and installed audio drivers. I also had to install USB 3.0 again because my external hard drive freezed the whole system once connected.

Installed the latest NVIDIA & CUDA drivers and they work just fine.

Noticed that reboot takes some more time but it doesn't bother me.

No issues here, updated via the App Store and everything when through ok. No need to do anything, flawless update no need to use MultiBeast at all.

Using the Apple default Nvidia driver as the Web Driver caused problems before.

All the kids cared about is Vmware Fusion working for their minecraft servers in Ubuntu.
