Hey guys,

i made some Hackintohs, but right now I want to make a bullet proof Machine for a friend. My Problem is "as always" GPU.

I tried my luck with 750 TI but unfortunatly we have this freezes with FCP and some apps.

What is in the Price Range of 750 TI a fully functinal Card ... radeon or Geforce ... I dont care.

Thanks

I would reccommend the GTX 760 2 GB. It works natively out of the box and hardly ever needs additional help. I used one on my first build and graphics never gave me trouble.

Hope it works for you!

The 750 Ti is too new for FCP and other sophisticated apps. I concur to look for an older card, such as a 650 Ti or 670 used on eBay, for example.

However, my 750 Ti is working in all the general purpose apps that I use. See my post on it in my signature block as it might help you. Oh, I don't use the nVidia CUDA drivers, just the Web drivers. You might download the nVidia CUDA drivers to see if that helps. He's the link as of this date/time: http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-cuda-6.5.37-driver.html

Hey Thanks for advice.

I want nearly no trouble, so i have to look for real stable Cards ;)

I took not a GTX650, all running even Instal without Flags ... somebody wrote I need Web drivers or nv_disable.... I don't think so ... if its running ? What do you think ?

@ Stork

I would be happy if you help me with Wifi/BT and iMessage ... I have the same Board like you. PM ???

I ditched nVidea cards several years ago because of constant freezes in FCPX... I have had 0 trouble with my HD7970 since I started using sysdef Macpro 5,1...

MSI GTX 770

Runs with native drivers, fast, rock stable.

I had a 970 previously but the darn thing caused more trouble than it was worth. I'm not a fan of using third party drivers either, it's one more thing to have to worry about. 10.10.2 has caused a lot of grief for many of those needing NVIDIA web drivers.

Side note, Cinebench benchmark is higher with my 770 than my mates similar build with a 970. He can't upgrade to 10.10.2 yet either as it kills his system (he spent hours upon hours trying to sort it).

Yeap, GTX 770 is really stable! Both of my cards are rock stable and work out of the box.
