Hello,
I'd like to update my 4740s to Yosemite, but am worried about losing functionality. Anybody found something not working with the current Clover Installer? I remember having read that USB 3 was a problem, and someone had a flickering screen...

Thanks for enlightening me! :)

Why don't you try it and report back.

Well... it's the production machine with Mavericks & Chameleon, and I don't want to spend too much time this time.
I take it ProBook Installer 6.1 (6.1.13r3) doesn't support Yosemity (and never will?) and I got to change to Mavericks & Clover first, then update to Yosemity?

Do your experimentation with a different HDD (remove the existing one, place it somewhere safe, install a replacement, experiment with Yosemite).

Probably never... None of the developers are using Chameleon anymore. Why should a dev waste their time creating/testing/debugging something that is inferior and that they don't use themselves?

Yes.

Aaaah! I have seen the light. :)

Better not touch what I can't explain, though...

You guys are truly amazing!

For those who want to update: I have not encountered problems with Yosemite on 4740s so far. :)

Big Thanks to the folks who made that possible!

No graphical glitches either? Congratulate!

Not when booting/booted from system volume. During boot into Recovery HD there is a brief phase in which slices of the Apple logo are dispersed horizonally.

BTW: installing creates a logical Volume that includes also a Recovery HD, but ignores an already present RecHD. Went to gparted for cleanup...

I thought GPT drive does not have logical volume?
