Guide To Install Yosemite on HP Laptops with Clover UEFI

If you followed the guide properly (eg. pressing F4 and patching DSDT/SSDTs), the Radeon will be disabled and GPUSensors.kext will not load...

Hey Rehabman. I understand what you are saying, but after further googling and investigations, i seems i was getting this error due to some kexts from the Clover folder, mainly fakesmc. I changed it and finally able to install. I will update just in case ANYONE has similar issues. Also for DSDT, I was under the impression you build it with the HP install program? However it seems the machine is not picking up the DSDT. AGAIN, I will try again and give feedback. Thanks for reading.

Your system does not have HD3000, please check again. The first thing to hackintosh is you know your own hardware.

Getting Bluetooth to show up on a ProBook 450 G1 with BCM943225HMB WiFi/BT card

I have a ProBook 450 G1 (details on signature). Based on the recommendations in post #1, I replaced the stock WiFi/BT card with a BCM943225HMB that I picked up off of eBay. By following the instructions in #1, I had little problem getting everything to work. Well, almost everything.

For some reason, the WiFi portion of the BCM943225HMB worked oob but, the BT portion did not even show up. The System Information report for Bluetooth showed "No information available". Oddly enough, Ubuntu 14.04 and Win7 had no trouble identifying the BT adapter nor the WiFi adapter.

I looked through every log I could find. I hunted all over this site for ideas.

After days of trying various different adhoc changes, I finally came to the realization that this was either a USB problem or a model identifier problem (PBI chooses MacBookPro11,2). With this realization I tried removing the GenericUSBXHCI kext from the Clover EFI partition (EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10). And, sure enough the Bluetooth adapter showed up on the next reboot.

System Information Bluetooth now shows the following.

Now, I need to pick up a BT mouse and make sure BT really works.

I'm not sure how this sort of issue should or could be covered by PBI. Perhaps the GenericUSBXHCI kext should not be included when a ProBook 4x0 G1 is chosen. This does presume that all 4x0 G1 models work alike in terms how the BT adapter is handled.

At any rate, if you have the combination of a ProBook 4x0 G1 and a BCM943225HMB wifi/bt card and you find that BT is not found, try removing the GenericUSBXHCI kext from the Clover EFI partition.

Thanks to all who contribute to these forums.

Have you tested sleep with this configuration?

Have you tested sleep with this configuration?

No, I have not fully tested it. I actually don't have a BT device of any kind. However, I can say that with no BT devices paired, the ProBook can sleep and wake up with everything appearing to be in tact (USB mouse worked, WiFi worked).

This afternoon I plan to pick up a BT mouse, so I will test with a real BT device and let you know what I find. If there is something specific you would like tested, let me know and I'll give it a spin.

Not using GenericUSBXHCI in 4x0 G1 causes other problems (sleep, restart-on-wake,...), that's why I added the kext to this model.

will the installation process work if the screen is not attached to the probook(cable removed) and i am using an external monitor?

if yes, should I use the hdmi or the vga cable to connect to monitor?

Hey! Thanks for this guide man! Having done hackintosh on a non-optimal desktop and a non-optimal laptop, this felt like a fresh breeze of air! :)

My laptop it's the same as yours! It's an HP Probook 8470p! My previous laptop broke and I decided to buy the most compatible laptop I could, and I found this one available in my country! :)

Sound didn't work at first, but it was solved by repairing permissions and cleaning cache with the Kext Wizard as you said.

I'm waiting for my USB WiFi dongle to arrive, meanwhile I'm tethering WiFi through Bluetooth with my Android phone. It worked like a charm!

Also, every time I started the computer it welcomed me with a message telling me that I should connect a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. At first I bypassed it by connecting an USB mouse and keyboards. But then I casually found an option on the Bluetooth settings to disable those messages! Yay!

I did the installation on an USB hard drive, to test without wiping the original hard driver, but this weekend I'm going all the way, replacing the DVD drive with a second hard drive and installing it on my main SSD ;)

Everything works! It's amazing! I'm also waiting for the DisplayPort->DVI adapter to arrive so I can connect my second monitor. And then I'm also waiting for an USB->VGA adapter so I can connect my third monitor!

This is nuts! Have you tried using a docking station? I understand it has an additional DVI video output.
