Following THIS method:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...motherboard-temporary-guide-os-x-10-10-a.html

I managed to get the installer to boot, unfortunately the loading bar makes it about 1/5th through and freezes here:

This happens no matter what I do, and always in the same place.

Can anyone help?

I am using the following system:

Mobo:
GA-X99-UD4
Processor: i7 5930K
Graphics: GTX 980

The GTX980 can complicate things.

First of all, establish that you can boot the USB stick. Does that work? Then establish that you can boot to Yosemite from the USB stick. Does that work? If it doesn't and if that's where you're stuck, if you look around the forum there are others with very similar configurations to yours. They're out there, I've seen them.

As the moderator BoomR told someone who's trying to do an x99 system (very complex) and also adding in another complication as the GTX970/980's are not supported in Mac OS, what they were trying to do was very challenging. Not undoable, but very challenging.

I have a GTX970, these cards do present some challenges. You should try and boot in safe mode and with the boot flag of nv_disable=1. You might want to also add GraphicsEnabler=Yes.

Also what will get you more support here is to be more detailed about what you have done, what steps you took, where you are in the process, and what research you have done here on the site. I can't guarantee that will work, but it should help. Have you found others with your motherboard and CPU and graphics card that are running Yosemite successfully? I think there are some, but you need to find them and follow along with what they did.

I suggest you check out others with similar configurations to yours and see what they did to get their systems up and running.

Good Luck.

Hi!!! I have 2 980, try to boot with: -v npci=0x2000 nv_disable=1 cpus=1
After you (must) will install the web driver delete from your mind nv_disable=1 and add to chameleon plist npci=0x2000 nvda_drv=1 cpus=1

Go ahead

Holy S***, I have managed to get to the installation screen with this, thanks so much! But I cannot see my main HDD that I want to install it on, I can't see my Raided SSd's either, only removable media (my 2 USB's). Is this something I can fix?

UPDATE: I am using 2 raid0 SSD drives, I cannot change this due to the way the Windows partitions are setup, will I need another drive (external one like the USB's that already show up)?

Awesome!!! I don' t know if it si a good idea to install an hackintosh on a Raid build... Don t do it man... You ned another sata AHCI drive, find a simple 250 hdd it's cheap (sorry for my eng)

If I get another internal drive, won't it still be using the same controller? Is it even possible to set up different Sata controllers for hard drives in the BIOS? I have a GA-X99-UD4 motherboard (Gigabyte UEFI DualBios) and I can't find anywhere with separate options.

I was going on the assumption that as the USB's show up in Disk Utility on the installation to use an external USB hard drive to install it on, I already have another regular (unraided) HDD in the PC (used for storing data at the moment), is it possible to use that one instead of buying another one? I would still need a partition for Windoes on it though.

Yeah! Remeber one important thing, if u install Mac in da same hhd instead windows your win mbr and bootloader will be deleted for mac efi bootloader, then when you will erase the mac partition you cant boot Windows, so use your data hdd (ssd is the best for mac)

[SUP]I have now installed Mac onto an external HDD (I think) I had to do it as a GUID Partition instead of Master Boot Record as it would not install without it.

I am now having quite a bit of trouble booting into the newly installed Mac, Everytime I try to boot (even in verbose mode) after the code and everything has loaded I am greeted with a black screen (or the apple logo if im not in verbose mode).[/SUP]
