What problem are you trying to fix with DSDT?

I have the same pc with tuubazz. I need to remove all nvidia kexts from the extensions?

Assuming you have Intel+Nvidia graphics... You can use nv_disable=1 instead of removing the kexts.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Hello, is my laptop compatible?

Specs:

Asus X42CP
Intel i7-3337U
HD Graphics 4000 + Radeon HD 8530M.
SATA 500GB HDD.
RAM 4GB.
UEFI BIOS.

And my dude is:

Can I use both graphics card like Windows?.
If no, how can I switch graphics to dedicated?, because on uefi settings dont appears this option.

Thanks you....

The discrete graphics capability in a switched dual-GPU configuration is not supported with OS X on hacks. Best you can do is disable the discrete part with SSDT/DSDT patches.

Ok, can you suggest me a guide about how apply a SSDT/DSDT patch?.

Thanks you, RehabMan.

There is a ton of examples in the the Laptop Support forum if you use search.

Basic idea:
- extract all native DSDT/SSDTs
- find SSDT that contains _OFF for your discrete card
- edit the SSDT call _OFF from _INI
- on older computers the "off" method can sometimes be found in DSDT

I will try do this, Im sure that I will need more help, because this my first build with a laptop.
Anyway if I cant do patch my DSDT, can I upload this for patch help?.
