Hey all,

I have had a hackintosh for several years and it has worked great, but recently upgraded my mobo and cpu (GA-Z97X-UD5H and i7-4790k haswell). I have been able to successfully install Yosemite 10.10 via the Unibeast/Multibeast method outlined here so I know everything is compatible and working.

My question is, HOW CAN I GET CLOVER TO WORK AS MY BOOTLOADER??

I have searched google, multiple OSx sites including this one, and youtube, and can not for the life of me get clover to boot on my system. The closest I have gotten is to get it to boot, then I get a kernel panic as stated in the attached image (seems related to the CPU)? Google has said its something related to the SMBIOS, but i have tried several options including the imac15,1 (newest) with no success.

I am going to follow the tonymac guide for mavericks + clover when I get time today, but at this point I am not sure what to do. I think it has more to do with my inexperience with clover than anything else.

Hi

Im having the same problem with clover using the same motherboard but a 4770k cpu. I was able to install yosemite using clover in my older z87-g45 msi but it just died, i upgraded to the gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H because is on the recomended hardware list but clover dont work for me.

You do something special to install yosemite using unibeast or you just followed the tonymacs guide?

I actually think (fingers crossed) I was able to get it booting. I believe it had to do with my config file for clover.

I was able to install using mavericks and directions: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...-how-install-os-x-mavericks-using-clover.html

After that I was able to run the yosemite app as an upgrade once i was able to boot consistently.

I am in the process of trying to build a yosemite clover USB and install directly per their directions which i was not previously able to do:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html
* Only differences to the above guide for yosemite: I am NOT using NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, and I installed clover using the same UEFI settings for creating the USB as I did the post install (http://www.tonymacx86.com/attachmen...-install-os-x-mavericks-using-clover-uefi.jpg)

If I am able to get working (after days and days of trying many things), I will post a guide, since I am using all "recommended hardware", and there seems to be little support for it at this time.

If you cant wait a day or two, then I would suggest trying to create a USB drive using the clover UEFI install mentioned above without wasting time putting the installer on it, then see if you can boot via USB to your main install. If you can get that working it seems thats 80% of the battle. Either way I hope to have a guide up tonight or tomorrow if I can get the time, good luck.

Thank you! After days and days of working with this mackintosh I can waitfor your guide. I try everything that i find. Im very noob. I hope you can solve this, I now it can be done! Right know im trying to build the usb installer again using the settings that you suggest. If it works i will report back. Good hack!

You mean you get clover working installing mavericks first and then update with the yosemite app?
After the update you can boot to yosemite using clover?

I create a USB installer of yosemite using the mavericks instruction without nullpowermanagement as you do but the problem persist. Im using the last version of clover 2999.

Sorry that may have been unclear... I created one with mavericks hoping it would have better support and to see if there was something i was doing wrong.

I have gotten yosemite to work now directly, but am trying to work out the audio and post install issues (i have crashed the system several times with my efforts lol).

More to come in a few hours

I would say for now you can do the unibeast/multibeast method listed here on the site and you should be able to get a working system much easier.

Hi

You make yosemite work using booting with clover?

Im trying to install with chameleon but i get no graphics aceleration with the intel hd4600, the audio wont work and the killer network is VERY slow. How can i activate the graphics aceleration? i try graphisc enabler yes and no but it doenst work.

I hope you can success, i have too many days trying. Good luck!

Graphics acceleration I am not certain on because I have a dedicated GPU.

Audio is a known issue with the ALC1150 chipset as it is not really one apple supports yet (but hopefully will). If you install the driver from MultiBeast, then you may want to try plugging your speakers into the FRONT audio port as this is the only one that is working at the moment.

Killer network, I was not able to get to work, I use the other network plug on the back, the apple 1000e kext (v3.1.0) i believe.

I posted the problem in another forum and someone says "u are injecting some old kext .. and the new ones are present in cache.."

Thank you. I will try using the intel ethernet adapter.
