Do you have the latest BIOS? Did you try resetting BIOS?

Running out of ideas for you...

The BIOS. LMAO. An update? Pfft.

There's an issue on the Lenovo u510s where if you reach max brightness and press the increase brightness button again it sets brightness down to the minimum level. Then you have to press the decrease brightness button until it wont dim the screen anymore. Then very carefully adjust brightness up. This is in Windows 8+. Its an issue in the BIOS but lenovo swears there is not an issue. But shortly after the issue was reported, any machines that came from the factory have a v1.07 bios on them without the issue. Their site says no BIOS update is available and tech support is useless. I definitely won't be buying lenovo again.

I'll try resetting it but I honestly don't think that will help anything. *shrugs* I've seen crazier things work though.

Again RehabMan, thank you for trying to help me.

So I didn't reset my BIOS.

For boot I typed

Code:
dart=0 IGPEnable=Yes IGPlatformID=01660003 -v

I'm now sitting at the choose language screen of the installer!

Because IGPlatformID is broken in Chimera4, you've reached the installer by disabling the graphics kexts.

Note: IGPEnabler=Yes is Unibeast default, and IGPEnable is not a valid bootflag.

I'm not using chimera4 I used an older unibeast for mavericks with chimera2.2

ok... Chimera3 will work with just 'dart=0'

Ok So I rebooted and used

Code:
GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes IGPlatformID=01660003 "Graphics Mode”=1366x768x32 dart=0 -v

Why does the fix seem to be dart=0 Should I be concerned that that seems to resolve the non boot issue with the installer?

dart=0 is required when you can't disable VT-d from BIOS.

Hi Rehabman, ive just purchased some RAM to upgrade my U410. I was wondering if you can help me with the correct steps to take after installing the RAM in my laptop, if there are any steps. Or is it just simple as installing the RAM and everything on the laptop will work as per normal?

thanks

You should re-extract/re-patch DSDT.

So, I got OSX Installed... Ran multibeast...patched dsdt. installed kexts...etc.

Everything seems to be working so far except audio.

It shows no output devices whether there are headphones plugged in or not.
