How To Install OS X Yosemite Using Clover

New problem here. My monitors aren't "waking up" when I boot now. I had my computer off last night while I downloaded a fresh copy of yosemite (I suspected my problems were coming from a corrupt download). When I woke up I started the computer and the monitors didn't turn on. They show the orange led light for sleep rather than the blue that comes on when they are receiving a signal. The computer HDD is spinning but no monitor signal. Any ideas?

I have tried to install following this guide, and i'm almost there. There's only thing that i'm missing, hope anyone can help me, it seems a cpu or usb "driver" issue to me...:

I booted from clover, and waited for +2 hours for the yosemite installer to show. At that point, i tried to format, the drive and continue with the setup, but the system was incredibly slow. Finally i got the final screen where it shows the estimated time remaining, and was 2.5 hours more. This is ~10x slower than normal, so i canceled everything, as i thougt that even if i let it finish, the resulting setup will be as slow, and started trying different boot flags, and settings in clover configurator.

Previously to all of that, i must say that i have a working mountain lion setup, (gigabyte ga-x58-extreme, nvidia geforce 9800 gtx, core i7), and also installed yosemite form scratch in a spare disk using unibeast-multibeast (using same pendrive)

I thought was a problem with the usb, and also tried 2 different usb pendrives and a usb harddrive, with the same result. Also tried to remove NulPowerManagement kext, as i didn't need it on the working setups. The flags i used in chimera to boot the working setups are: npci=0x02000, GraphicsEnabler=Yes, PCIRootUID=1. THe npci flag endend in a sudden reboot when tried on clover bootflags.

Anyone?

If you still have Mountain Lion installed, I recommend trying to boot into that installation with Clover(on a usb) first. Once you get up to speed booting into a working installation with Clover, you can then move onto installing Yosemite.

Do a search in the forums for your motherboard and Clover, somebody else may have the same equipment as you and may be of further help.

Question about guide:

In step 4 Post Installation, there are two versions of config for UEFI versus BIOS.

Why in step 2 Prepare Bootable USB, is there only one config? (specifying Drivers64UEFI options) Or in other words, why doesn't BIOS version in step 4 need Drivers64UEFI?
EDIT: Because step 2 is a Legacy boot. Everybody can does it the same regardless of motherboard.

Silly mistake I corrected: when you copy your DSDT file (i.e. DSDT-GA-H55M-UD2H-F11.aml) over to Clover, you have to rename it to DSDT.aml to match what the attached config.plist-standard expects. (or run cover configurator and correct the mismatch.) Without the DSDT file, my install would quickly get the "no entry" sign.
EDIT: note that information in DSDT can override information in config.plist. Learned that from toleda when solving sound problems.

Also needed to remove the "inject Intel" option to get past "no entry".
EDIT: wrong info, it just made things different. Eventually left "inject Intel" set, and found problem with USB settings.

Now I'm at the point where it takes overnight to boot from USB and then usb devices seem hung. A couple of days ago I used Q-bios and it took over an hour to save bios to usb. Using dd command from terminal window can also take forever. Something to do with /dev/disk versus /dev/rdisk . But I digress .....

Unfortunately, I have tried it even the "non UEFI way" which was in Post 1 of this thread per my post on page 13. Same symptoms. When I boot to USB, the machine flashes a menu very very quickly and then boots Chimera as normal or boots into the setup if I try to force it to USB (which means it is not booting correctly).

Have you tried to use a different USB stick? i have one USb stick made by CENTON green version that i CAN NOT use for booting anything. i can format read write to it as normal.

If Clover is supposed to be so far ahead of multibeast/Unibeast why is it so much harder to setup thats if up get it setup then so much post installation you gotta do? Only thing Clover has going for it is iMessage.

Yes. I have tried a different USB stick, as well as tested the current one with UniBeast, which works fine.

I think many of you guys have been spoiled by this site and the improvement in terms of the chameleon/chimera methods. You need to remember that building a Hack isn't point and click like a Windows install. It can be damn frustrating and take time, but the satisfaction when done is worth it.

Speaking of which, another successful build here - after a little trial and error. Having followed the guide, I'd suggest that whatever you doing in the "main" USB drive partition (i.e. the one you've named "Install OS X Yosemite") you repeat in the hidden EFI partition - and that you also need to create the folder 10.10;

1) If you've created 10.10 in "Install OS X Yosemite/EFI/CLOVER/kexts" do the same in the hidden partition (EFI/EFI/Clover/kexts)
2) any kexts you've copied to "Install OS X Yosemite/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10" do the same in the hidden partition (EFI/EFI/Clover/kexts)
3) Make sure the version of config.plist resides in both the hidden and "main" partition
4) If you deleted VBoxHfs-64.efi from "Install OS X Yosemite/EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/" and added HFSPlus.efi, do the same in the hidden EFI partition in the same subfolder

This may be superfluous to do the install, but after a couple of hiccups (the circle with line through it, Bluetooth KPs) I got it up and running. I used AtherosL1C ethernet kext and then finally did the "call apple" to get facetime working.

I agree, it shows how well documented UniBeast and Chimera are. I compliment the hours of hard work put into these free source bootloaders and tools. Each and everyone.

I try 3 different Apple IDs and any one active. I think the problem is my Hack.
