Hello,
I have looked for a solution to this problem but cannot find any.
The network preferences show a green light on Ethernet but when I try to visit a page on a browser it says there is no connection.
I'm pretty sure I have the correct drivers installed and an IP that no other devices are using, so I don't think the prob is that.
Please help,

Thanks

  • What Revision is your motherboard?
  • Which ethernet kext are you using?
  • Which version of OS X (e.g. 10.9.1) are you using
  • If using Intel HD**** graphics, then what is the video memory settings set for in the UEFI/Bios? It should be 64mb
  • In system information/ethernet - does it show ethernet on en0 or en1?
  • Ethernet cable must be plugged into a working router at power up.

It seems to be working now. I don't know why though, but if you still want me to, I can give u the info you requested.

Thanks anyway though,

If the problem is solved then great. If you have further problems then post back with those details and we can try to get to the bottom of the ethernet issues.

Try to rebuild the caches using DCPIManager, let it run and then use -f bootleg when you reboot. Try a second cold reboot if necessary by disconnecting the power cord for thirty seconds before powering back up.

If you still have no working internet, then you should probably delete your network preferences and network .plist and start again.

Well I just upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite so I was thinking it has to do something with old files that were not ported correctly
I just did what you said and I see:

IOKitPersonalitites_x86_64.ioplist.gz is out of date, not using
KextIdentifiers.plist.gz is out of date
Can't load Kext_MSRTools.kext - validation problems
Load info.olofsson.driver.CMSRToolsDriver failed, removing personalitites from kernel

kext-dev-mode allowing invalidad signature for ...
kext-dev-mode allowing invalidad signature for ...
kext-dev-mode allowing invalidad signature for ...
kext-dev-mode allowing invalidad signature for ...

I hope this fixes the issues.

I also have audio issues
Audio works for notifications, nothing else, try playing a video in Chrome, no sound.
I can't see the volume icon.
Ethernet (Internet) ONLY works in Google Chrome. I guess it's because Chrome uses Google for DNS, I suppose, or has a cache, I don't know
Also the Nvidia Drivers are not detecting the second monitor.

For me it feels the entire Extension folder is just not loading or messed up

I did what you said (cold boot, 30 seconds power off) and Internet worked for about 2 minutes or so.

Would you please help me, how do I delete the Network Preferences, network.plist file and try again?

I can't find that file network.plist
