Hey! I have exactly the same build as you. I tried to install yosemite but i have trouble getting to the installer. After boot i get stuck at the apple load screen, with a grey stop sign. Weird.
does anyone have any idea about this?

Use Rear USB instead the one in front. If the installer works fine it should solve your problem.

Just tried that, didn't work.
I also tried to boot in verbose, and this is what I get:

When I try typing that in Terminal I get:

rm: /Volumes/Macintosh HD/System/Library/Extensions/GenericUSBXHCI.kext: is a directory

I'm typing it out using tab so that it's right. Any ideas?

I've just bought my set with H97N-WiFi and followed Tony's guide and your's and it works! Thanks!

Note: I luckily passed the installation with -x option only.

:headbang:

In the Terminal, do the following:
Code:
sudo rm /Volume/your drive/System/Library/Extensions/GenericUSBXHCI.kext

touch /Volume/your drive/System/Library/Extensions/
Tip: when in the terminal, type the first couple of letters of the path and hit the tab to complete the entry. Keep doing that for each path name including the Generic... If it doesn't complete the path name, type in a couple of more letters and hit Tab again.

Code:
sudo rm /Vol[Tab]

gets

sudo rm /Volumes/

etc.

My one when I type in Sys then it automatically complete the entry:

After that Library cannot use tab to complete.
??How am I gonna solve it??

Thanks in advance. :O
