ok so ive used unibeast to load the install app from the app store on to my pendrive, how ever when i select it on start up it just goes to a black screen that just reboots after 1 min.

does anyone know what the problem is here?

sorry:-

NUC:

1.7 GHz Intel core i3
4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel Graphics 4000 1024 MB

similar issue here. http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...en-reboot-after-choosing-usb-boot-loader.html

I currently have Mavericks installed, i've upgraded Chimera to 4.0, but when I try to load the USB partition, i get nothing. It just stays blank and then reboots a couple minutes later. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

The blank screen is whatever color theme i'm using with Chimera. I changed it to the light theme to test this. It just hangs for a minute or so and then reboots.

Intel NUC
DC3217IYE - i3-3217
Intel Graphics 4000 as well, 16GB RAM

thats the same as i have NUC with the specs above. I also updated to 4.0 before hand as recommended but seems to be having problems when wanting to boot into the pendrive

hopefully someone will get it. i'll keep you updated but i'm not planning on wasting a lot of time on it until the 'pros' figure it out.

See my thread here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...g-boot-into-unibeast-5-0-0-installer-usb.html

May I ask if you had to patch your kernel in your Mavericks installation? If you had to, we are possibly facing the same issue. At this point I am almost certain that some sort of kernel patching is required to boot into Yosemite installer with my hardware configuration. I'll be following the forums and guides very closely. In the meantime, i'd also be very happy if anyone could post any stuff to try, and I'll immediately report back with my findings. thanks a lot in advance!

our issues could be related, however, we don't see ANY text after choosing the boot drive.

also, no we do not patch our kernel

Hey guys,

i got my NUC up and running with yosemite. i went for a clean install, wasn't to fussed about the files on there that i had. The problem was the unibeast v5.0.0, they have updated the unibeast to v5.0.1 and i used that and created the boot usb, that worked for me. well at first i thought it was the same old black screen but i waited for like 10 seconds and then i got the apple loading screen for the install.

Also i can stress enough that you have to have your DSDT as well witch is located in your USER>Extra's file. If everything was working for your NUC then with mavericks then that will make most of the things work. Straight off with the install i had my wifi and all other things working, i just had to use multi beast to install the DSDT and select:

Trim Enabler
NullCPUpowermanagement
Apple RTC patch for CMos reset
System Def: MacMini 5.1
1080p Display mode
GraphicsEnabler=YES

i had to erase my SSD and install Yosemite from scratch but its working
