Hi just wanted to share with you that after having so much trouble trying to install mavericks to my brand new build I went ahead and did a Yosemite install to see how it went, well let me tell you it went awesome!:headbang::headbang:

Did not even have to struggle with entering flags, the only flag I entered was -v and the installation went smooth, after installing going to the first set up was just as easy, installed drivers with Multibeast 7.0 and everything worked fine except for the 2.0 USB at the back and both 3.0 and 2.0 at the front. But that is all

These are my basic specs for my new build:

Gigabyte H97N-WIFI
Intel i3-4360 @ 3.7
8 GB RAM Ballistix (2x4Gb) ---> But only used 1 stick for installation
Samsung SSD 120gb (and no HDD)
TP-Link N900 PCIe Adapter

So basically I first created my USB with Unibeast 5.0 and the Yosemite install app from the AppStore

Then booted the USB only with -v

Installed OS X in about 12 min (but took some time to jump from min 10 to min 9)

Then did first set up and installed these drivers with Multibeast,
it boots perfectly without any help

What works:

Bluetooth and wifi worked out of the box,
Sound works (front and back)
Graphics out of the box,
USB 3.0 at the back work
iTunes and Apple account would not work until I installed the correct System Definitions to MacPro 14,1

What does not work:

:beachball:USB 2.0 at the back
:beachball:USB 3.0 and 2.0 and the from

:problem:2.0 worked before I installed the 3.0 drivers from Multibeast,
I did not install any Ethernet drivers as I would not really need them , you guys think this have something to do with the USB's not working? Any help?

:problem:Also, after installing 1080p fix from Multibeast to get HD booting the apple before signing in shows weird faulty in sequence but that lasts for about 2 secs only booting up so I don't really worry about it.

Thank you for these awesome developers we have :thumbup:

Did you install on a clean partition or did you install over your current mavericks installation?

I installed on a clean partition, well had "faulty" mavericks before but formatted it before install. 1 partition disk only.

Good to know, thank you!

I have a fully functional Mavericks install on my H97n, but I'm really hesitant to mess around with Yosemite because it's my only computer, and my only OS is Mavericks.

You should give it a try when you can, I have used mavericks on a mac and Yosemite looks and feels different in a way that makes it better :D

Good luck and let me know if I can help

The USB 3.0 - Universal driver is only for 5&6-series motherboards. 7, 8 & 9-series motherboards do not need this driver.

Is there a way to revert the usb 3.0 universal? I would prefer not to reinstall cause i got my GTX 970 working great.

Edit: I just did a clean install and did not select USB 3.0 Universal. All USB's are working great now. Thanks again :)

Wow. Just installed on a test partition, that was such a clean install! Evinced migration assistant to copy over user information, preferences, and apps and so far no issues. Woo:D

EDIT

Okay I spoke too soon... KP's every time I try to boot. I believe it was due to patching my WiFi/BT card for 5gh/z ac and it's country code. Time to reinstall tomorrow, but off to bed for now.

Thanks Stork for the info, though I seem to remember my 3.0 were not working at first.

Could you teach me how to revert this? Can I delete the driver in the system without having to reinstall all over?

Thanks in advance

In the Terminal, do the following:
Code:
sudo rm /Volume/your drive/System/Library/Extensions/GenericUSBXHCI.kext

touch /Volume/your drive/System/Library/Extensions/
Tip: when in the terminal, type the first couple of letters of the path and hit the tab to complete the entry. Keep doing that for each path name including the Generic... If it doesn't complete the path name, type in a couple of more letters and hit Tab again.

Code:
sudo rm /Vol[Tab]

gets

sudo rm /Volumes/

etc.
