I've attached last error, with a new installation USB, without Legacy feature.

Any idea?

Use a different USB port and/or USB stick. Check/change USB settings in BIOS.

I've already tested on all USB ports, even 3.0 with no other result.

Is it possible to use a SD Card instead?

Use a different USB stick. The SD card reader will not work for installing.

So I just ran through the Mavericks Installation coming from a 10.8.5 installation. I'm now having kernel panics in the AppleHDAController when trying to boot. Below is a picture of the error I'm getting.

This came up after I rebooted from the installer, with the -f option. I also tried the GraphicsEnabler=0 and PCIRootUID=0 and I still get that error. I am however able to get it to boot if I add the -x flag to start it in safe mode.

So in safe mode I then ran the HP Probook Installer, and simply selected the OSX Support Kexts for my version (4540s). I did notice that the option for this one, inside of the installer application, said "Zero KB" even when I checked it. I also installed the latest version of Chameleon.

I then rebooted, however I still can't get into the installation unless I'm in safe mode. I also noticed in safe mode that my sound isn't working, so I don't know if that means something else failed.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this or what I am doing wrong?

And on another note, this drive has Windows installed on it as well, and even though I have Chameleon installed, it always boots up Windows first and I don't get the boot loader that lets me select what to boot up. I'm not sure how to fix that either.

It is because you have VoodooHDA installed. We don't use VoodooHDA on the ProBook.

Hmmm I don't know why I would have that installed because I've used the guides here for all of my installs.

If I just remove that kext should the issue be resolved?

EDIT:

Okay so I just removed it and it seems to be up and running, with sound and all. So thanks a lot Rehabman!

And now that I think about it, this OSX installation started with a Dell Inspiron, so that file was probably lingering around from that installation since I have restored all installations since then so I wouldn't lose stuff.

Do you know how I can fix my bootloader issue as well?

Awesome, you are very helpful, thanks a lot. I keep forgetting that you have to do that after upgrades. Hopefully I remember for the next one!

AFAIK, upgrades should not affect the boot1h on the PBR of your Mavericks partition.

Upgrades to Windows may affect your bootloader situation (Windows may try to install its bootloader).
