Installed, ran MultiBeast but now can't boot

Hi,

I'm having a problem booting. I just installed (with one RAM stick as suggested) and managed to get through to run MB. Settings installed and restarted but now i'm not able to boot.

On the first boot (with -v) it hung and i've taken a picture of where it hung. Since then, every time i try to boot it just restarts at a certain point, it's too quick to photo.

I also have Win8.1 installed on the desktop (originally, but mac on a different HDD). I can't boot without the USB. If i choose the Mac hard drive it boots to windows, if i leave it - Windows, if i choose anything but the USB installer - Windows. But i still can't boot.


Specs are as follows:

Intel i7-4790k
Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3
Radeon R9 270 (can't be working either, but we'll get to that later...)
16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (although currently 8GB as i haven't installed the second stick again since Mavericks installation)


Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated!!

Try boot with -x and see if you get to desktop.
Post your MB selections if you can.

Tried with -x and no dice...

Which motherboard settings do you want? I don't suppose there's a way i can just print the settings to a text file and copy and paste is there? Sorry, this is my first time trying this, i've never really messed with computer settings before.

I'll have a go, but i don't know what to include here.

- XMP = disabled
- CPU and RAM multipliers set to = auto - no overclocking
- Boot options 1-5 are as follows (i've not changed these):
* UEFI mac drive
* Windows drive
* Mac drive (non UEFI i assume)
* Data drive
* USB flash drive
- Bootup NumLock State = enabled
- Fast Boot = disabled
- Limit CPUID Maximum = disabled
- Execute Disable Bit = enabled
- Intel Virtualization Technology = enabled
- Dynamic Storage Accelerator = disabled
- VT-d = disabled
- Initial Display Output = PCIe 1 Slot
- XHCI Mode = Smart Auto
- Audio Controller = enabled
- Intel Processor Graphics = enabled
- Intel Processor Graphics Memory Allocation = 64M
- DVMT Total Memory Size = Max
- Intel (R) Rapid Start Technology= disabled
- Legacy USB Support = enabled
- XHCI Hand-off = enabled
- EHCI Hand-off = enabled
- Integrated SATA Controller = enabled
- SATA Mode Selection = AHCI
- ISCT Support = disabled


Those are what looked important enough for me to mention, not knowing what some of them mean. If i've missed something you need let me know what you're after and i'll get back to you ASAP.

I got the same problem. I'm a noob, but I just managed to build my first hackintosh and install Mavericks 10.9.5. I installed MultiBeast and some drivers I think after than, and it prompted me to restart, and I guess I kinda skipped through it a little fast without reading, but now it's stuck on boot, like there's lots of text and then it restarts and goes back to UniBeast.

Try npci=0x3000, PCIRootUID=0 kernel flags. Also, what did you choose in Multibeast? Did you install the correct DSDT for your motherboard?

I'll give it a shot in the morning, thanks. Also, i'm not entirely sure about the DSDT settings. I *think* i chose the right one (easybeast) but i'm not honestly sure. How would i find out? I tried researching but wasn't overly successful...

I wouldn't recommend easybeast (I used it the first time I hackintoshed and had similar issues as you). Instead, choose user DSDT option, and make sure to have your DSDT on your Desktop (named as DSDT). You can find a DSDT for your motherboard here http://www.tonymacx86.com/11-dsdt-database.html
If you can't find one, then there is a way for you to extract a DSDT from your motherboard yourself, but try to find it here first.

now that I think about it, I am pretty sure that the Z77 boards don't need DSDT (so a Z79 might not need one either). So make sure to remove any DSDT that multibeast installed. Honestly, I'd recommend a reinstall; easybeast installs stuff and settings that you might not need, which might be why you can't boot. Me personally, I only need the flags I posted above, along with audio and the lnx2mac network driver, and everything works perfectly.

There's no option for a Z97 series? How would i extract from the motherboard?

Being newer and updated, would Clover help me in any way? Is it likely to cause any other problems?
