Your first clue about the difference should be that the first is in the desktop forum, therefore specific to desktops. The second is in the ProBook Laptop forum, therefore specific to HP Probook/Elitebook laptops.

I just install hackintosh on my elitebook 2570p, using this thread guide.. but I got some problem, some hardware didn't work :
1. my wifi Broadcomm BCM 943228HM4L..
2. sound, sound icon in laptop only orange... when I press it, it show on display sound is mute..
3. no battery Bar
4. track point/ point stick not work
5. USB 3.0 combo Esata not work..

please anyone who have fully working hackintos on elitebook 2570p machine share solution and kexts..

1. BCM 943228HM4L is not supported.

2. Not sure what you mean by 'sound icon... only orange' What sound icon?

3. You need DSDT patches and ACPIBatteryManager.kext.

4. You need PS2 drivers: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller

5. Missing DSDT patches...

yes, I use that guide..
I try to install clover bootloader as step #13 but I cant find elitebook type in "osx support kext" menu..
when I let that choice none, I got Kernel panic..

finally I install clover bootloader probok version using 8x70p configuration,
sound work, usb 3.0/esata work..
I change wifi to ar5b95 and its work..
right now only trackpoint didn't work

Do you have VoodooPS2Controller.kext loaded in your system? You can check that with e.g. Kext Wizard. This kext should be located in EFI/EFI/Clover/kexts/10.9/

If it does not work even if it looks like it is loaded, rebuild cache and reboot.

VoodooPS2Controller.kext is loaded in my system and I had rebuild cache, but my track point still not work, in windows its normal..
I had try EC reset too, but same, trackpoint not work..

and one again, before I install clover probook, I can use my SD MMC card, but after install clover probook, its not work
