Giacomoleopardo's Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WiFi Build for DB

Hi everybody,

Yesterday, I decided, to upgrade my hackintosh, from Moutain Lion to Mavericks.
However, since i did that, I can't load the system partition without -x parameters on chimera bootloader. Without -x, the system "stuck on the apple" before users authentification screen.

Now, after a lot of tips I have tried, I really don't know what to do and I really appreciate some help, if someone has another ideas.

I precise, that I have a configuration with only a graphic chipset onboard, an Intel Ivy Bridge Processeur Core i5-3450 / 3.10 GHz 4 coeurs Socket-LGA1155 (a bitfenix prodigy case and a sata drive)

First of all, this is the list of the actions that I made :

* Both try upgrade installation, then clean installation with Macintosh HD partition format before.
* Bios configuration (bios version F2) :
> load optimised configuration then
> Bios Features :
Intel virtualisation technlogy disabled (I try also enabled).
I don't have VD-t option in the bios, so I can't change it
> Peripherical : EHCI & XHCI Hand off to "enabled", init display first : "IGFX" (I try also "auto")
> power management : AC Back "always on", high precision event timer "enabled"

* Multibeast 6 (multibeast configuration file is in attachment) :
> try both user dsdt (with dsdt including two jpalm.repo for "graphics" and "gigabyte") and user dsdt free
> Driver audio realtek with ALC892
> Bootloader chimera
> power management laptop
> system def mac mini 6,2
> I try also with GraphicsEnabler to 'No' and IGPEnabler to 'Yes' on plist file

* bootloader
I try dart0, without success

If I load my system in the booloader with -v parameter, I can read some errors :
"
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.play: 2 No such file or directory
Previous Shutdown Cause: 5
SMC: : smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap == NULL -fall back
".

(On attachments the exacts errors)

It is really weird because the same configuration has managed correctly mountain lion and I see on the forum, that a lot of users, with the same motherboard and processor, managing mavericks like a charm.

Thanks for reading me.
Regards.

iMessage Not Working

Hi, I'm new to this forum and building a Hackintosh. I am NOT new to building computers, nor am I new to Macs. I have a lot of experience and am able to follow instructions on this site. I used this thread along with a few other resources to build a machine almost identical to Giacomoleopardo's Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WiFi Build for DB. I do not have discrete graphics, just using HD4000 which is working fine. I'm really happy because pretty much everything works...except iMessage.

I have followed numerous threads and guides on this subject. Nothing has worked. Sometimes I can sign in, but it shows as inactive, although it does trigger the popups on all my other legit iOS and Mac devices. But no matter what, I am never able to actually fully sign in and get Messages working. iCloud is all set--Calendar, contacts, etc., all work. At first I thought I'd be OK without Messages, but it's just killing me to be so close to full functionality, and I'm now realizing how much I depend on this service. Anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks!

I went through it all again (probably for the fourth time) and it works! I can't understand why it would work now but not before. Whatever Apple is doing sure is sensitive, because it makes no logical sense. Oh, well, all's well that ends well.

So i did just update my Hack setup from Mountain Lion to 10.9.1 Mavericks.

After some small trouble i got it working and to boot properly :)

I did use the latest Multibeast 6.1.0 for the DSDT with PJALM patches, just picked the audio and network like in the original guide i guess i did pick also the latest Chimera 2.2.1 does it really matter if its not the same older version as in the guide 2.0.1 i guess ?

Is still the best System Definition Mac Mini 6,2 Or something else better?

Seems like theres something going on with intel HD4000, for example when the desktop opens for first time after booting the "flying" animation of previously open windows seems very choppy, the MountainLion setup was really smooth. Also changing tabs in safari just with mouse clicking is laggy often.

I did Run Geekbench 3 64Bit and the scores were Single Core: 3250 and MultiCore 10651, so under the ones i got with MountainLion, i guess i was running GeekBench 2 at the time which gave around 11k..

I did not do the Speedstep stuff form the guide because before i was given the advice that its not needed, also i cant check the power management thins with terminal, i did post the to the other thread:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/ssdt/91551-appleintelcpupowermanagementinfo-kext-msrdumper-successor.html

Maybe that is the reason why GeekBench is lower now, i did not also do the BIOS configuration again because i would guess that stays intact ?

iMessage wont seem to let me login now with Mavericks.. Sad.

This is how my kext looks now in System Extra, any tweaks i should make ?

org.chameleon.boot.plist. BTW i did not know that in Chameleon Wizard you have to first manually save the file to the Extra folder, it wont automatically save it self there, it did suggest Documents folder.. ?

Hello everyone,

finally after much research, I discovered that my hardware was not correct.

In fact, I thought having a HD4000 graphics chipset, because I had a Gigabyte motherboard z77n-wifi, however, I bought a processor that supports only HD2500 :-/ But it is not recommended use a HD2500 for a hackintosh configuration. Moreover, as I have thought a HD4000, I install the wrong DSDT for my system :-/

So I bought a few days ago, a low-end graphics card, a Geforce GT640 gigabyte, review my DSDT configuration and installation of maverick completed successfully without ever I bare to use the - x in bootloader.

I now work in the management of power management, but before that, I have one minor problems to deal with:

Since I've been on the GT 640, the startup screens (with information on the motherboard), the bootloader, and the launch of OS X, do not display the maximum size of the screen . Once I access the OSX login screen, the size is correct. It is not very serious, but it's pretty ugly. With my geforce, I am connected via DVI (I've tried before with HDMI, same result).

Someone would have an idea about this point?
Thank you all :)

NOTE : To exit standby function, I have yet to change my bios :

Internal graphics standby mode: No
Internal graphics deep sleep: No

I would like to add to this that the PJALM links are no longer available. It seems the patches were taken down. Is there a workaround to this?

Hey I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for this long description of the entire process. It definitely clears up a lot of the unclear parts of the build.

I now have a successful build:

up5th
i7 3770k
gtx507
ivy bridge macmini 6.2 with functioning pm on both cpu and gpu

thank you of course to the entire tonymac community and all the contributors sited in your post, incl. toleda, pike, maciasl creator etc...

thanks!! :D

You posted in the wrong thread. Giacomoleopardo's build description thread is for the GA-Z77N-WiFi motherboard.

I have been meddling with this for over 24 hours, have been changing bios settings and different flags but to no avail.

1.Wifi card has been removed as it is not supported by OS X
2.ALL USB devices plugged into 2.0 USB Port in the back.
3.Monitor plugged into DVI of Motherboard
4.Motherboard using F2 version of Bios (Everyone is using this)

Using the following flags result in this error
"[IOBluetoothHCIController][start] -- Completed
*** [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] -- Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport!"

-v, -x -v, -v PCIRootUID=0/1 /+ GraphicsEnabler=yes, -v -x PCIRootUID=0/1 /+ GraphicsEnabler=yes

If anyone has the same build as me, please help me. I have tried the OSX86 uniBeast Guide and http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-bu...pardos-gigabyte-ga-z77n-wifi-build-db-33.html guide.

If you have any idea what the settings should be after loading optimized defaults and what boot flags should be used, do let me know. I will not hesitate to try.

Please help me, thanks
