Help with booting - only works with usb stick

Pressing F12 to select a boot device has nothing to do with how you've set up your BIOS. Are you certain you have AHCI set? Are you running a UEFI or standard Award BIOS? Either way, I'm 99.9% sure you have to specifically set AHCI in either.

I'm running a UEFI bios. I think I have it set properly but maybe you can spot something that might be off:

Looks ok to me. Have you disconnected all drives exempt OSX and used Unibeast to boot it then installed Chimera yet?

I read what other people with the same MB did and copied them. When I chose EasyBeast or UserDSDT, the installation wouldn't work. So I went without DSDT and only needed to select the proper Audio drivers and everything works perfectly minus the bootup sequence.

First you should disconnect your Windows hard disk so you don't damage it. Then you should download and run the latest Multibeast. Go in select chimera in the 'boot loader' tab. Select nothing else. Then select build. After it finishes This is important, ONLY select chimera under bootlaoder, DO NOT select anything from the first tab! Then copy and past the /Extra folder from the usb thumb drive to your OSX partition. . It is likely invisible, so you might need to download the utility for showing hidden files, also available under downloads on this site. This should solve your problem, and allow you to remove the thumb drive. It should also allow you to point the bios to the OSX drive as first boot, and provide the option to boot in to Windows or OSX. You can fine tune the boot loader settings if this works later.

why not just use the stand alone installer of chimera avalible here http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=223

then run chameleon wizard to select your default partition and set things to quite boot so it boots up without hit one single key until it's password time then if you want to boot into windows hit F12 during chimera loading to begin instant menu at the chimera screen to select windows

Ok I will try Chimera on its own one more time before unplugging the Windows drive and trying that method.

I haven't unplugged the Windows drive yet and tried that

That's funny.. I just found your post suggesting that in another thread so I did it but I get an error that I attached:

you don't need to update you need to click the org.chameleon.boot.plist tab but you will need to already have chimera installed

When I do that and press Save.. it doesn't seem to save. When I re-open the program, it shows the old settings again.

Do you have chimera installed already?
if so hit open and manually select your /Extra/org.chameleon.boot.plist it is possible that it's picking up on your unibeast installer extra folder if you have it plugged in try ejecting it while doing this

Yes I originally installed it with Multibeast and then did the standalone installer now. So what you suggested worked by manually opening it and saving it. Now when I open the file it shows the settings have saved however when I boot through the USB now it doesn't look like quiet boot works. It stays at the boot loader screen waiting for my input.

that's because in the unibeast usb drive it isn't set to quite boot you need to try it with it unplugged
unibeast is set to instant menu
select your mavericks drive via bios/uefi and set it to the top priority in the hdd group and then see if it works
