Because I do have the screen blink when going from bootloader to apple logo to menu log-in. thought maybe there is a fix.

Very slight blink. Artifact of the way this solution works.

Hi Rehab, just want to reply to say thanks for this topic and the recommendation of ACPIBacklight.kext

I tried the method in this topic without luck but ACPIBacklight.kext did restore full brightness for my laptop (Samsung with HD3000)

Thanks for your work man

Both techniques work, but ACPIBacklight is easier and better. Glad it worked for you...

Hello,
i've tried your guide with the AppleBacklightInjector.kext but after the bootlogo the screen stays black. I patched the DSDT and the Terminal showed me this: Patched AppleBacklight.kext for DisplayID: F10T1600
Can you help me?

Hi RM,

So I repatched my DSDT to fix the fan pinned at 100% problem (and it seems to have fixed that problem) but now I cant dim my screen.

I patched DSDT following the guide (booted without DSDT in extras folder) 3 times now to be sure I didnt miss any steps. I also reinstalled all the kexts from PBI (last version).

I confirmed the kext is installed/loaded with kext wizard.

Repaired kext permissions, disk permissions and reset EC to no avail :(

I also confirmed the old blinkscreen is not in launchdeamons folder.

Any suggestions on where I may have gone wrong?

Repatch DSDT using the ProBook Installer.

Note: We are not using this solution on the ProBook, but rather DSDT patches + ACPIBacklight.kext.

All patches are also available in my repo.

This forum is specifically for ProBook. And this technique is specific to Intel integrated graphics.

According to your spec list above, you do not have integrated Intel graphics...

Sorry, should have said its the ACPIBacklight.kext that I confirmed was loaded.

Also tried the PBI and still the same result :(

Guess Im gonna do a clean install over the weekend
