[SUCCESS-UPDATE YOSEMITE] Working GA-H87-D3H OSX Mavericks 10.9.2 (Audio hdmi, s/pdif, LAN, etc.)

01.02.2016: UPDATE TO EL CAPITAN
28.10.2014: UPDATE YOSEMITE

My config:

  • i5 4570
  • Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H motherboard
  • 8 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
  • Zotac GTX 760
  • Corsair 600M PSU
  • Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB
  • WD Blue 1Tb
First update bios and then use this settings:
  • xHCI mode = auto
  • xHCI Hand Off = enabled
  • EHCI Hand Off = enabled
  • X.M.P. memory profile = profile1
  • Vt-D disabled
Follow this guide until step 6 and use this MultiBeast configuration. Then reboot:
  • Quick Start > DSDT Free
  • Drivers > Disk > 3rd Party SATA
  • Drivers > Disk > TRIM Enabler > 10.9.0 TRIM Patch
  • Drivers > Graphics > Intel Graphics Patch for Mixed Configurations
  • Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v5.3.820
  • Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v5.3.820 Plugins
  • Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v5.3.820 HWMonitor Application
  • Drivers > Misc > USB 3.0 - Universal by Zenith432
  • Drivers > Network > Intel - hnak's AppleIntelE1000e v2.5.4d
  • Drivers > System > Patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement > OS X 10.9.0
  • Drivers > System > AppleRTC Patch for CMOS Reset
  • Bootloaders > Chimera v2.2.1
  • Customize > Boot Options > Basic Boot Options
  • Customize > Boot Options > Generate CPU States
  • Customize > Boot Options > Hibernate Mode - Desktop
  • Customize > Boot Options > Use KernelCache
  • Customize > Boot Options > 1080p Display Mode
  • Customize > System Definitions > Mac Pro > Mac Pro 3,1
  • Customize > Themes > Chameleon 2.2 Default
For HDMI audio and s/pdif (very poor quality):

  1. Download Kext Utility, Kext Wizard and AppleHDADisabler.kext.
  2. Go to /system/library/extensions and delete AppleHDA.kext.
  3. Use Kext Wizard to install AppleHDADisabler.kext
  4. Open Kext Utility and let it run until you see the message saying "have a good day"
  5. Reboot
  6. Open up Multibeast, go to Audio > Drivers > VoodooHDA 2.8.4 and install the last version
  7. Run Kext Utility once again, waiting for that message.
For HDMI audio and s/pdif (GOOD quality):
  1. Install VoodooHDA 2.8.5
  2. Reboot
For Nvidia driver:
  1. Download and install
For trim enable:
  1. Download and enabled
For bluetooth:
  1. Buy a bluetooth dongle (Buyer's Guide) [in my case Trust 4.0 18187]
  2. Just plug in
  3. (Apple Keyboard, mouse and trackpad works, but i can't enter bios)
Apple Map fix (and perhaps sleep problems):
  1. Disable Intel HD Integrated Graphics from bios

Running 2nd Screen via IGFX and 1st Screen via Nvidia GTX.
(thanks to pheenom)

ToDo for Intel HD4600:

1. Set GraphicsEnabler=No, IGPEnabler=Yes in org.chameleon.Boot.plist (Nvidia 7xx Series!)
2. Set IGPlatformID to 0D220003 in org.chameleon.Boot.plist
3. Change (via Chamleon Wizard or so) System Defintion to iMac14,2 (Copy your serial before you change it, and paste it in new SysDef, so you have the same)
3.1 Changing to iMac 14,2 increased my Geekbench Score!
4. Reboot in BIOS and set IGFX as Primary Input for Display

Huge props to toleda for the solution!

UPDATE YOSEMITE:
1. Clone Mavericks hdd on another drive with SuperDuper! (just in case..)
2. Download Yosemite from App Store and stop the automatic upgrade
3. Create bootable usb with Unibeast 5
4. Restart, boot from usb and install Yosemite
5. Boot from disk the new OS X
6. Run Multibeast to install driver like network
7. For audio install View attachment VoodooHDA_V286_MAV.zip or View attachment VoodooHDA-v2.8.7.pkg2

Fix 5 second delay:
1. type on terminal:
Code:
[COLOR=#000000]sudo systemsetup -setkernelbootarchitecture i386[/COLOR]
2. Hit ENTER
3. Fix permissions with Disk Utility
4. REBOOT

Fix Trim:
1. put in /extra/boot.plist file after <dict> this:
Code:
[COLOR=#000000]<key>Arguments</key>[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]<string>kext-dev-mode=1</string>[/COLOR]
2. enabled TRIM with Multibeast (drivers->disk->trim enabled-> trim patch)
4. REBOOT

Problem:
  • iMessage
  • Continuity

Thank you for posting.
I have the same motherboard and OS X 10.9.2 and I have a huge problem. Every now and then the computer freezes - cursor doesn't move, nothing works, and I have to reboot. Did you by any chance experience anything like that?

No, i'm sorry. Until now (3 days), my computer freezes only due to VLC (i now use Movist).

Nevermind, I found that it freezed due to a faulty HDD.

But it's weird it freezes for you due to VLC. I always use VLC, and it works flawlessly. I suspect it's a problem with your NVIDIA driver. I've heard a lot of them are going to be fixed in the next update (10.9.3).

I fix the problem with VLC, Maps and sleep by disabling Intel integrated Graphics from bios.
