NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for 10.9.2 (331.01.01f01)

I haven't installed these drivers, but I noticed my GPU was stuck at a higher temperature and frequency for a couple days. On a hunch, I switched my system definition from Mac Pro 6,1 back to iMac 14,2 and the clock and temperature reverted back. I'm guessing the new Mac Pro doesn't have the same power management features as the iMac, since it's built for performance.

The drivers do NOT override OpenCL framework, as nvidia has nothing to do with that file, that's a file that will only be overwritten by apple, likely during software updates.

the nvidia web driver doesn't even overwrite apple's nvidia drivers either, it installs along side them so you can easily switch between the two, should one work better than other.

Same here with this new driver: GPU Driver Version: 8.25.9 (331.01.01f02) I have scores in Geekbench as such.http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/471575. Single:3677, multi:14905. on 64bit bench.

Your Geekbench scores won't change never, even if you have dual GTX Titans on your rig. Geekbench only tests CPU and memory performance. GPU is not tested here.

Wanna test your GPU? download Unigine Heaven/Valley.

Cheers!

HI I have a GTX 650 Ti and whenever I try to switch to the NVIDIA web drivers in the system preferences, it reverts back upon reboot. Also, I installed the latest CUDA drivers but After Effects says my system doesn't have CUDA installed.

Make sure you have the nvda_drv=1 flag on your org.chameleon.boot.plist, if not, write it at your bootloader screen (the same way you put -v, -x or -f if you need verbose, safe boot or ignore caches).

Cheers!

Isn't the most important bit that you have MacPro smbios running?

In my case I have iMac11,3 smbios and works fine. I had to edit the .PKG installer to allow me to install the drivers, though.

Cheers!

Has anyone tried the new driver and the OpenCL fix with 780ti?
