Is there any Asus motherboards you can use to build a Hackintosh?

I have an ASUS B85M-G w/ 2x4GB Kingston (KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX), GB GF GTX 650 (GV-N650OC-2GI), and an i5-4570S. The basic setup worked fine, had a problem with the Ethernet, had to use this kext (was tricky to find): https://github.com/Mieze/RTL8111_driver_for_OS_X.

So far so good. Have an issue where it would only boot from the USB drive (and Win7 does the same from the second partition) that haven't figured out yet.

Hi Tony!

I have only one queastion: My hackintosh almost 100%. The sleep works (the whole machine sleeps), but with the wake I have a little problem. The machine wake, but don't recognize the keyboard. I must replug it. Have you any idea?

I think another BT dongle, but I don't know that is the problem. Now I have an BELKIN F8T017ng Bluetooth adapter. You adwise an IOGEAR GBU521 Bluetooth 4.0 Micro Adapter USB?

Thanks for your answer!

Thanks for the comments. I'm currently using a Gigabyte Z87X board for my main rig, and we've done extensive testing on the recommended boards. As stated many times over, these motherboards are in our opinion the best you can get for building a custom rig. I am familiar with the threads in question, however I'm not convinced that the issues that are springing up are hardware related. Rather they may be related to other factors such as UEFI setup, RAM timings, peripherals, and OS X Mavericks in general.

Hey Tony, thanks for the reply. I know you're a busy man but is there any chance you could specify your z87 setup and your bios settings, its plaguing a lot of us.

Thanks!

None of those are currently supported in OS X, that is why we are only recommending SB-EP processors.

Isn't the Xeon E5 2697 V2 (12 Cores) offered by Apple as the top Mac Pro?

Is the Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor supported?

The 1230 V3 is a Haswell Xeon so it will work only on a Haswell socket 1150 motherboard.
@jmbe. As of today that 12 core Xeon is not supported. Check back after the public release of 10.9.2.

Can someone explain why the R9 280/280X (s) are not recommended? I thought the Tahiti was supported natively (especially since that's what the new Mac Pro has).

i would love to know this as-well. since i NEED to use WiFi since i don't have Ethernet in my house :/ and i dont want to have to spend ages trying to get it working. i just need something that works out of the box

Try using the Power-Line Communication: no WI-Fi, Ethernet speed, everywhere in your house
