Hi I have searched over the forums and didn't have any luck finding a patched bios for Asrock z77 pro4.

Could anyone be kind enough as to help me with this and also maybe a guide on how to update it on the motherboard.

Also do I need a DSDT for my motherboard?

For information on whether a DSDT is required, see these threads and read through a few with similar CPU/GPU:

For the patched BIOS see:

So I know there is a file for the asrock z77 pro4 motherboard in the biosrepo.wordpress.com site but I'm wondering what I am supposed to do with that? Does it have to be patched or do I just drag it into my flash drive. I'm a little confused because the file doesn't seem to be a .ROM file and I thought it has to be in that type of file to update BIOS.

It is my understanding that the BIOS needs to be patched. There is another link that I have found:

Can I suggest that you read over some of the motherboard links. If there are any build descriptions then it may help to reveal the best way of doing this for your board. Sorry to sound a little vague, I have only got experience in using Gigabyte boards to date, which is why it is beneficial for you to read a little more.

It's already pre-patched, you're going to need to patch your board if you want to use Mavericks. You won't be able to get past post without it. For Mountaion Lion, it wasn't entirely necessary but was needed for different reasons.

So do I just drag and drop the files into my USB and go into my BIOS and flash it? Or do I need to patch with PMPatch before doing that?

Sorry for the questions but I just needed more direction and guidance.

Also from the bios repo site there are two things in the folder. One folder says MACOSX and the other is just a file that says Z77PRO41.60. Which do I patch?

Assuming your USB drive is formatted in FAT32. Move "Z77PRO41.60" to the root of your usb drive. Enter your bios choose instant flash and it should auto detect.
