Just wait to 9.0.2 :(

no succsess so far

i will try it with the patched kernel next week

Hi! I've built myself a similar system, specs are in my profile, and I have had SOME success. I did a lot of googling around and did not find anything, until a very nice guy posted on the thread I was posting on with modded files he used. So, I replaced the default files with the modded ones and got into the installer. Then I installed mavericks! After rebooting again back into the installer to copy over the modded kernel I tried booting into my SSD. I was able to load the mavericks desktop but it was EXTREEMLY laggy and destorted and slow. I was able to do this because I deleted the stock Nvidia drivers. Unfortunately I ran multibeast and messed the thing up though. I had to format and try again. The next time I tried I kept the nvidia drivers and ws able to install mavericks and transfer the modded kernel. But then when I try to boot into my SSD I got a black screen. That is my story. If anyone has any ideas please tell me. I need all the help I can get.

P.S. Loading into the installer took about 45mins

P.P.S my only other idea is to reinstall mavericks without the nvidia drivers and then install the beta version of mavericks. Do you think that would work? I'll give it a try.

Hi Tommy,

thanks for your reply. I had no success and don't know how to patch the Kernel.

I think I have to wait till 9.0.2

@Leumas1311
I'm very sorry I think I know why you got suspended: because you posted your issue in too many threads.
I'm very sorry as I wrote to you, perhaps ask some smart people, and post in some other threads....
(But maybe not this many....)

Marco,
You don't have to patch the kernel. Patched kernel is posted out there, and information regarding how this
will evolve under Mavericks 10.9.2, but this motherboard isn't a focus of these forums (focus is Gigabyte and non-beta software),
so you'll have to look elsewhere.

David, I have switched to Gigabyte X79 UP4 :)

@Marcox4 @dkmn

That's frustrating: Marco has changed from Asus R4E to Gigabyte X79 UP4.
Gigabyte is supposed to be the focus here and is supposed to be more easy to setup.... And he still doesn't succeed. (There is not one i7 4930K Goldenbuild, good tutorial, guide)

I still need to buy the hardware. Was doubting between R4E / Gigabyte.
I prefer R4E (with enough PCI-E slots+ SATA 6GB connections), but if that would be 'too difficult' I'd go for a Gigabyte, but apparently they are both difficult...

No matter which motherboard: If in the end I'm not able to build a stable OSX system that works.... I am cheaper of buying a mac after all...

Thats frustrating..

I had no success with 10.9.2

"unable to open var/db/bootcache.playlist 2 no such file or directory" :(

Please take a look on the attachments regarding my Bootflags and the error.

Thanks
Marco
