I keep getting this when trying to boot from iBoot to the Snow Leopard Boot Disk.
EBIOS read error: Media error
Block 0x0 Sector 0
Any advice? I unplugged all peripherals, except the USB mouse, and only have 1 Harddrive hooked up and the dvd drive. All of the front panel connectors are unplugged, and the graphics are onboard this MSI motherboard.

Usually caused by a card reader.
If this is the case, disconnect it or go into your BIOS and set each of the card reader devices to Floppy Disk Drives or CD Drives.

So somewhere between successfully uploading Snow Leopard and trying to run multiverse so I can boot from my SSD, I have messed up and I can boot up from either the iBoot or the hard drive. How do I start from scratch and remove any data from the hard drive?

Not sure if I just missed this in the documentation or countless posts I've read, but you CANNOT boot with HDMI for the initial Unibeast install of Mavericks! I've spent too many hours over the past few days trying everything...just to find out that the HDMI can't be used for install (must be DVI).
Hope this saves someone a headache.

A tale of two gigabytes and a hint that HDMI Mavericks using Unibeast can work...
My initial attempts to get a mac life out of a ga-z77x-ds3h were successful using the internal intel graphics with both HDMI and DVI graphics but directly I added a graphics card the Atheros network connection was lost and would not ever be restored, except by removing the graphics card (I tried both ATI and Nvidia with same result). Mountain Lion/Snow Leopard would not successfully install the network either.
The lesser but equally sweet ga-z77-ds3h was much easier to handle and even managed to negotiate an install via a DVI-d to VGA adaptor both from an ATI card and the internal graphics.
On Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard there seems to be a much greater dislike for certain monitors. My trusty old Sony desktop analogue TV/monitor (16x10) is safety itself but again beware the Atheros network kext which can be a real bind to get started if you use a graphics card.
I also have a working ga-z87-hd3 which performs best of all of these McWindows! My next attempt is to get Snow Leopard working on a very old Gigabyte P41 Core Duo board for a friend. I'll keep you posted how that goes.
As I remember reading when first researching Hackintoshes it really is a case of try, try, and try again. But like every bug it'll catch you in the end and you'll keep at it until it works. Biggest disappointment is not being able to get an Audigy2zs to work with OSX but then there are those kx project drivers......!!!

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to put together my first Hack. Just want to confirm something. After I have Snow Leopard installed from DVD and update to 10.6.8, can I go directly to one of the newer versions or do I need to purchase each upgrade along the sequence 10.7, 10.8, 10.9?

Get 10.6.8 installed. You don't need to run MultiBeast, just boot with iBoot and go to the Mac App Store, create an account and download Mavericks; Mavericks will start to install, however, quit the installer. Create the UniBeast USB thumb drive. Reboot into your BIOS and make the UniBeast USB thumb drive your primary boot drive. The rest of the steps are in the tonymacx86 10.9 Installation Guide.

Thanks for the advice. As soon as the parts get here I'll give it a try.
I got the newer processor (Intel Core i5-4690) and the GA-Z87X-UD7 TH mother board. I'm a little nervous that there may be a compatibility issue with them but I guess I'll just have to put it together and see what happens.
I used the links in the buyers guide. Hopefully the site gets a little $$ from the sales. Thanks for all the help!
