It will be imperative to replace the existing WiFi with a compatible card. Lack of Ethernet means only possibility for Mac App Store access is with built-in WiFi.

Hopefully there is no whitelist in the BIOS preventing a replacement card. Unless I write a NullEthernet.kext that works...

Not all machines need the Local APIC fix, but if you're not sure, apply them both. The Local APIC patch will never hurt.

BTW, I visited my local BestBuy today and would have purchased this machine but they were out of stock with the i7/256GB version, so I walked out empty handed.

Hi guys. Does anybody have any advice to send a lenovo yoga pro to Europe. As bestbuy prices are really good it looks interesting to purchase there but they won't send it to Europe. Does anyone know how it it works with myus.com? How much does the i7 version cost with the taxes included knowing that the announced price is 1199 us dollars. I have heard that Wyoming state has the lowest taxes. Does that mean that if someone in the US purchase it there it will be cheaper. How does it work ? Thank you for advice.

Just thought I'd mention that I was able to borrow a friend's Yoga 2 Pro for a couple of days.

I was able to install Mavericks, but have not been able to get Intel HD graphics working.

The crazy high-res screen is definitely going to be a problem...

Hi Rehab man

Great that finally someone has some concrete news about how it behaves. What is happening exactly with the crazy resolution. Is it not working at all or only in a lower resolution ? Did you get anything else, audio, wifi, trackpad, bluetooth working. I guess it was only a short shot so may be you didn't focus on those, especially if graphics aren't working at all.
Would mountain Lion be easier to install. What are your ideas ? Thank you in advance.

It worked but only without Azul drivers loading. I tried all values for IntelAzulFB. Also tried with Clover and injecting EDID. Every attempt to activate QE/CI resulted in failure. The system was manipulating the backlight as late during the boot process the backlight level would change from full on to ~75%, but no image on the screen.

I did not have a mini-HDMI to see if there was a signal on HDMI. Also, without networking I was unable to login with VNC (I don't have any USB WiFi either). To be prepared properly for this you should have USB WiFi and/or USB Ethernet that is ready to go with OS X. I did look at system.log and it looked like the "window server" process was crashing.

The unit has Intel WiFi. It will not work and will need to be replaced. Looks easy once you remove the back panel. Take a look at the service manual for details.

Audio should be possible, it is Realtek ALC263 (going from memory). Simple matter of patching AppleHDA (not easy, but well known as a solution).

Trackpad works great with my VoodooPS2.

I wonder if some future version of OS X might make the graphics work. The Haswell MacBookPro uses a special build of OS X. So maybe those drivers have changes to enable the retina display (previous Haswell Macs were not retina).

Thank you again. Your explainations made my mind clear about the possibility I have with my knowledge. Then there is only one thing that I can do: wait for a lenovo yoga 3 that hopefully will be more harmonised with macbook air hardware.

Nothing is less sure so the macbook air can be the only way. Cheers

FWIW, there's a new yoga 2 13" (not pro) due sometimes in Feb. that could play nicer with OS X if the issue is indeed the high resolution screen of the pro.
It should have similar config to the pro, but comes with a 1080p IPS screen. Also comes stock with a 500gb hybrid hard drive and a free msata port on the motherboard. MSRP starts at $1k (about $200 cheaper than pro?)
