first post!

I've really tried to read around and use the resources around here but I've kind of hit a dead end. Don't want to that guy.

This is my first hackintosh attempt... and I feel like I'm on the verge of giving up :roll2:

System specs are: i5 2500k | Asus Maximus V Gene (z77) | 16GB Wintec One RAM 1600Hmz | 120 and 90GB Mushkin Chronos SSD's | 1TB/500GB HDD's | 750GB PSU | 780 TI SC

First off, just from reading around I know that there are some issues with the 780 TI. I'm currently running off of the integrated.

I've successfully flashed the bios (1604, patched) from another thread.

I've also disconnected the other hard drives and only have the complexly unallocated 90GB Mushkin attached.

I format the drive as instructed and install Unibeast successfully. (Checked forums and watched tutorials several times now. Also have "burned" it about 8 times at this point. Even re-downloaded Mavericks on a different macbook and went through the process again)

Also have reset the bios and applied the basic configs given what the board allows... as long as a few others I've seen suggested.

Every single time I attempt to install after -v it says "BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file directory"

...then skips to bluetooth and pauses. bluetooth installs correctly. I've tried it with the MCombo card in and out. I've also removed two of the RAM sticks just to see.

I've also ran in safe mode and applied huge mixture of commands before install.

Initially, before I started using the -v command, it would show the Apple logo on a white background and the progress wheel would spin for hours.

I really don't know what to do at this point. If I can't push through this I'm going to be a Windows guy forever

...Also bought a copy of Mountain Lion that they still haven't sent a link for last Wednesday. That will be my last roll of the dice unless someone else can give me some pointers.

Thanks. Sorry for so many words.

Also at this point I've put the SSD in an external enclosure and formatted it with the Mac I got Mavericks on.

Still no success.

...

I also found a guy who installed it using an Asus board on YouTube and noticed that the bold message I posted below popped up on his screen too before the install began.

So mine apparently finishes the to the point that his installer began.

Back at square one :/

Did you change any other settings in the bios after flashing?

I downloaded from the same link you posted towards the end of the thread. Originally found it in GabeDamien's thread.

Downgraded it from 1903, then after I saw that the patched version wasn't working went to 14XX? then back to the patched 1604 just for safe measure (used ROG method)

I've tried default settings as well as disabling fastboot, then later something somebody suggested involving the iGPU, although I don't quite remember where it was.

Appreciate the response.

No, i have not change any settings after flashing BIOS.
I've used the attached flashed BIOS, you should follow this guide to install it

successfully logged into mountain lion. after messing around with multibeast it crashes on launch.

no wifi, though it picks up bluetooth off of the same card. k800/g700 keyboard/mouse only work when plugged in. USB 3.0 doesn't work.

best case scenario i'm running an outdated version with limited hardware capabilities... and i haven't really looked into it... but could possibly have to disconnect the GPU every time i want to run OS X.

i think i'm going to throw in the towel. call it a hiatus until they come up with 780 ti support and i plan the next mobo and cpu specifically for the hackintosh.

just not ready to give up on my little 2500k. could be a year.

note: we're looking at a good 30 hours i spent on this before even saying a word. i used the ROG method to flash that was mentioned in the video. all other methods fail. seems pretty black and white.

same results with bios posted in thread. pretty sure they're the same ones i used before. link was here

good game guys. i'll do a little planning before i jump in next time.
