Were you ever able to find a solution for your issue? I have almost the exact same issue and haven't been able to fix it yet.
I am using a z87x-ud3h motherboard and a i7 with the integrated hd 4600. It seems randomly I will get the login window and it works fine, or I will get the grey snow screen and am not able to login. I have to remotely ssh in and reboot the machine.

I tried several igplatformids and various bios options but its always the same.
I have a z87n-wifi with i5 4670k and using only the integrated hd4600...
Is it better just to get a cheap graphic card?
