I have the same system also but I'm having the freezing problem here. The only difference it's that I have an OCZ vertex3 240GB SSD this its my system drive. I have installed windows 7 in the same HD and system before installing OSX and ran it for 2 days to make sure it was stable. I had no problems.
My system freezes a couple minutes after I boot into OSX. All my parts are straight for the buyers guide from this site. The only one that's not the its the SSD hd. My motherboard has the latest bios firmware, and I copy your setting for the bios config. The freezing its driving me nuts.
My next move here is probably to buy a new SSD. Any help on this problem about be greatly appreciated.

Heres what I would do.
Unless you have have too many things installed in OS X, I would format your SSD that your using now.
When you get the new ssd, first install OS X to it. Have chimera installed on this so you can boot from it.
Then, install Windows on the second SSD. This is because a lot of people have problems installing windows and mac on the same hard drive.

Hey mate, how silent is the corsair case? I'm torn between looks and performance against a silent build.
Right now it's either the Corsair or the Antec P280

tnx for your help

It is a very quiet case. I love the option of being able to control the fans. What I do is keep the fans low while I am doing basic things like web browsing. Pretty much no noise. But when I am exporting video or something, I will usually turn the fans up to the highest setting. And even this is barely audible and almost unnoticeable.

I did not have windows and OSX installed on the same drive. I needed to know if my hardware was stable before I built the hackintosh so I was running windows 7 for about a week on the same hardware before I've installed OSX. This was if I had any problems I can fix it. I did not have a single problem with windows 7 running on this same hardware. After that I've wiped the drive and installed OSX using your guide. Great guide by the way. Everything was fine I just need to fix the freezing problem. I found out late last night that there is a new firmware for that OCZ Vertex3 so I've updated my drive but I'm still having the freezing problem.

I think I may know your problem. Does your hackintosh have 4 sticks of ram installed? There is known problems with the z87 series motherboards while having 4 sticks of ram. Basically, in the z87 motherboard, 4 sticks=unstable. If you have 4 sticks installed, turn off your computer and take out the correct ram sticks leaving only 2 installed: 1 in each of the grey slots.
Please let me know if this fixes it!

also, let me know if you currently only have 2 sticks installed.

I do have 4 stick installed. I'm going to test this later on today. I was able to make it stable by lower down my memory to 1333 from 1600 and replacing my HD with a normal WD 320GB 7200RPN HD. I want to get a SSD for the system drive. I thinking about going with the Sansung 840 EVO 250GB on the list here.

Let me ask you this if 4 sticks make it unstable on Z87 it would be unstable under windows also right? Because my its rock solid under windows. I need to get this box to 32GB and I can't get there with 2 sticks.

Thanks
