Hi ... :)

have exactly the same computer ...

I have mavericks working perfectly on the P9X79-pro and 4820k

I use clover plus a fully patched DSDT and Legacy Kernel-------works perfectly :)

screenshots:

If you want my DSDT and my config.plist Clover, to test, you just have to say :)

Regards :)

PS: sorry if there are spelling mistakes, I'm Spanish, my English is poor :(

OMG!!!!! You are my Knight in Shining Armor!!!!! Now i know its possable!!! Yeah ive been looking all over the place and I have not been able to find any guide of how to do it, plus this is my first build so I have no idea what I'm doing, the whole thing is new to me. If you don't mind files would be MUCH appreciated, that or a guide of how you installed Mavericks. Ive been working on this for about 3 weeks now it feels and any help you give will be VERY useful.

P.S. People are not perfect so I will NEVER put someone down for a grammatical error. (probably wouldn't even see it) lol

thank you for the help! I am not good at reading spanish yet so I used google translate and got this.

First I'll explain how I got the BIOS of my computer, I have the latest version of bios, the v4502 .

I have disabled in bios the Marvel controller and bluetooth, because I do not use , nor have wiffi card because I connect the network cable .

if you already have the USB created with the installation of Mavericks, and want to continue using chameleon or chimera , you have to copy the DSDT in Extra folder on your USB , Legacy Kernel from the Root "/" and you need to install FakeSMC too, when used Chameleon had it installed in / System / Library / Extensions / USB

you have to add before starting these Flags:

" NPCI = 0x2000 - v " with that you should be able to reach the facility, to partition your hard drive and can be installed without much difficulty mavericks .

what happens is that as the need for the 4820k Legacy Kernel to boot from the hard disk when Setup before the first restart , you must open the Terminal ( Utilities / Terminal) and copy the Legacy Kernel to HD Mavericks where you installed , so would :

Now it's easy to practice ... if you need anything else let me know without any problems

cd / cp-rf / mach_kernel / Volumes / Your HD Mavericks / and if you want to copy the FakeSMC also in extensions as well: (depending on where you've installed it, but if in Extensions of serious and USB) (if you have the FakeSMC in Extra USB folder, or if you need to copy, to botear from the HD but never pluck :)) cp-rf / System / Library / Extensions / FakeSMC.kext / Volumes / Your Mavericks HD / System / Library / Extensions after you repair permissions: diskutil repairpermissions / Volumes / HD Mavericks Your touch / Volumes / Your Mavericks HD / System / Library / Extensions

I understand most of this but have a few questions about this paragraph -- if you already have the USB created with the installation of Mavericks, and want to continue using chameleon or chimera , you have to copy the DSDT in Extra folder on your USB , Legacy Kernel from the Root "/" and you need to install FakeSMC too, when used Chameleon had it installed in / System / Library / Extensions / USB -- I don't have any DSDT files anywhere... ? and cannot find the Legacy Kernel, do I have to get that from somewhere else? I installed the FakeSMC in the extensions folder without any problems, just have questions on the other 2 files you mention.

:)

We do not understand lol :) jajaja

No! I have no idea where it went?! Go ahead and make a video and send me the link any time, sooner then later is preferred. I can access it on my iPad... ill see if I can repost it.

Darn... I'm not gunna get this build finished before Christmas... :( I'm just wondering if anyone here knows how to correctly install osx mavericks using a modded boot file on an intel i7-4820k processor system. My specs are in my profile.

I'm in the same boat as you, I saw your video and you were having the exact same problems I was having (except I have slightly different specs, they are in my signature). It's nice to know that someone else is having the same problem as I am. I just hope that someone can help us both out in getting Ivy-Bridge CPU's to work :(

So someone posted on a different thread that I could try and replace the Kernel file with a modded one. I used the one from here---http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/163-109-ivy-bridge-e-atom-lapic-fix-kernel/

So I followed the instructions on that InsanelyMac guide to the best of my ability, but I got different results then you did, Leumas1311.

I got this instead:
problem.jpg

Immediately after that I got a black screen for 2 seconds then it flashed to a never ending white screen with no logo at all. The strange thing was that when I got this white screen, I let it sit for a while then I thought "This isn't doing anything" and tried to turn it off using the power button on my case, but it wasn't turning off. I had to hold down the power button on my case for about 3-4 seconds before it shut off. I don't know if that is a big deal, but I thought I'd note it.

Here's the boot flags in my org.chameleon.Boot.plist:
<key>Boot Banner</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Instant Menu</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>IGPEnabler</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string> -v -f cpus=1 npci=0x2000 darkwake=0 PCIRootUID=0 </string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>No</string>

Any help? Thanks

Has anyone managed to install Mavericks using the 4820k?
There instructions using Clover where deleted because of other language usage besides English and I can't find them anywhere.

UPDATE:
I've managed to start install but it hangs there.
I've used match_kernel provided here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/163-109-ivy-bridge-e-atom-lapic-fix-kernel/
I've booted from USB 2.0
With -v -f GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x3000 darkwake=0

Booting from Mavericks Install USB is very slowly using the above flags.
I've tried both 0x2000 and 0x3000 and no result.

ACPI Power Management prompts that the CPU is unknown and unsupported but it continues booting

My Specs:
P9X79 PRO Bios 4502
4820k @ stock
480gtx
840 evo ssd
