Sorry, those are just my preferred boot options. If the loading bar on the Chimera screen is too slow, set the Timeout in /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist to 1, so it should look like this:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
    <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
    <key>GenerateCStates</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
    <key>GeneratePStates</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
    <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
        <string>No</string>
    <key>Kernel</key>
    <string>mach_kernel</string>
    <key>Kernel Flags</key>
    <string>darkwake=0 -v</string>
    <key>Legacy Logo</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
    [B]<key>Timeout</key>[/B]
[B]    <string>1</string>[/B]
    <key>UseKernelCache</key>
    <string>Yes</string>
        <key>Graphics Mode</key>
        <string>"1920x1080x32"</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Under kernel flags you can remove the "-v" so you can see the apple logo with a little spinning wheel while booting up. I use the verbose boot (which may confuse beginners) so I can see what's going on during the boot process.

Hi yes! So i was booting with -v. I took that out and that solved a problem.

May I ask what darkwake is? I am still getting the snowy page before the login page for 10-15 seconds.

So darkwake is a feature included since mountain lion. The following is the description of this bootoption

darkwake=0
The DarkWake feature in Mac OS X Lion and Mountain Lion allows you to wake up certain parts of your Mac from sleep, while leaving other parts in sleep mode. Unfortunately, this feature often messes up sleep on Hackintoshes. Enter this bootflag to turn it off (enter darkwake=1 to turn it on, if turning it off doesn't do the trick). Additionally, if your verbose bootup is freezing at a bunch of commands that mention "SleepEnabler.kext", entering darkwake=0 should be able to turn SleepEnabler.kext off. (Once you boot into OS X, be sure to remove SleepEnabler.kext completely by deleting it from either /Extra/Extensions or /System/Library/Extensions in your hard drive.)

Ah and concerning the static:
1. Did you try something apart from hdmi?
2. Can you try to figure out if there is just no picture or if your computer is unresponsive during that 10-15 seconds?

For me this sounds like a long period. I only encountered the static for about 1 second when switching inputs at my monitor....

Hi I have some questions:

With what cable you connect your mackintosh to your screen?
(Dvi -> Dvi, HDMI -> HDMI, Dvi->VGA -> VGA)

You have lags on Launchpad with Intel HD 4600? If no, how you solved the lags? I have Intel i5 4570 (Haswell with Intel HD 4600) and I have lags on Launchpad app and can't enable CI\QE (and OpenGL) and the OS X not recognising the HD4600.

Hi theShay,

I'm using dvi -->dvi to connect to my samsung syncmaster 24" monitor.
I normally don't use launchpad, but I just played around with it a bit and it seemed to work without any lags. So no Problems there.
Your lags are for sure due to your system not recognising the hd4600. If you are using the most up to date uni and multibeast the hd4600 should be automatically discovered and you should not have to do anything.
If this is not working you can still manually define you hd4600 in your chameleon.boot.plist by putting in a certain code (have a look at the quite early posts of this thread, you will find all information there).
But as I said, this should work automatically and I guess you either used old software or something went wrong during installation or post-installation and you might consider to reinstall.

Testing the same Haswell system...

The system was not very stable until I upgraded to BIOS F8K: Chimera would freeze and Clover would just reboot.

Finally, I switched to iMac 14,1 and H.264 Acceleration is fully functional.

In Clover When I drop a few CPu related SSDT tables - Maverick thinks I have a real iMac and shows "Power Nap" in "Energy Saver". CPU power states are still 8, 35 only... I have tried to use generated SSDT.aml, but no difference. There is only "Turn display off after" in "Energy Saver" preferences. It seems system will go to sleep a few minutes after display is off.

BTW, I use Clover Boot as bootloader and enabled kernel power management (-xcpm).

I certainly like the fact USB is not reset on sleep/wake. This makes all USB peripherals to work nicely.

Strangely, new GA-Z87X-UD3H hates Logitech G5 gaming USB wired mouse, but good with Logitech Anywhere MX USB wireless mouse, figures. Also, I have native Apple BT module and it works flawlessly, so is Magic Mouse, Trackpad and Apple BT Alu KB. I have GTX670, but I am trying to migrate to plain Intel HD 4600, as I hardly use 670 power anyway.

Cinebench score = 37.95 fps
Geekbench 3 = 4036/15722 (BIOS F7+MP3,1); 3541/13911 (BIOS F8 + iMac14,1); 3684/14306 (F8+iMac14,3)
LuxMark v2.1 = 288 (sala, gpu only)
Galaxy = 19/100
Unigine = 9-16 fps [average 12 fps] (default medium settings)

I do not see CPU going over 28°C.

Hi custom-mac,

thanks for sharing your experiences!

What problems do you have with sleep/power nap? I left all my system preferences on standard and everything seems to be working. The computer goes asleep and I can wake it with no problem using my wireless keyboard and touchpad...

Could you also post some reasons why you chose clover? I never tried it so I know nothing about it, but since you use it you must have some reasons for that and perhaps I want to use it, too :)

Clover is native EFI boot loader. It makes Hack work like real Mac: recovery partition, find my mac and etc. But it is still not very stable on Haswell. It is pretty well covered here in Laptop - HP ProBook - Maverick forum.

The good thing - both coexist on the same partition. So it is easy to switch between them or when something goes wrong. I switched to chimera at the moment as on Clover it does not wake up properly some times.

Strange, but I did not see any complains about iMessage not working. It is required to have FileNVRAM.dylib in /E/M.

Thanks for the insights :thumbup:

If you want to get rid of error in console:
[AGPM Controller] unknownPlatform

Add these lines to your org.chameleon.Boot.plist:
<key>IntelAzulFB</key>
<string>10</string>

I am assuming you have those already:
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>IGPlatformID</key>
<string>0c260000</string>
<key>IGPEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>

I am also not sure how to fix CPU stepping on Haswell and this MB. I posted question/findings here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...0k-ga-z87x-ud3h-gtx-770-4gb-2.html#post731196
