It was safe for me, you just need to repatch AppleHDA afterwards to get sound up and working.

Updated and nothing's unusual.

Preparations:
-Download OSXUpd10.9.1.dmg via http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1707
-Copy AppleHDA.kext in S/L/E to desktop.
Begin to update:
-Repair permissions.
-Install OSXUpd10.9.1.dmg, let in restart machine.
-Reinstall AppleHDA.kext in Desktop by Kext Wizard.
-Repair permissions again.
-Reboot and done!

You can just run PBI again after update (only select OS X support kexts > your laptop), it will patch AppleHDA 10.9.1 for you.

Here's the easier way to update:
:ch: Repair Permissions using the Disk Utility on the drive to be updated;*
:ch: Use the Software Update to download and install 10.9.1;
:ch: Re-boot;
:ch: Run MultiBeast v6.01+ and just select your audio driver to install;
:ch: Re-boot; and
:ch: Repair Permissions again.
:thumbup:

* You can use the Terminal instead of Disk Utility if you feel comfortable with a UNIX command:
Code:
sudo diskutil repairPermissions /

Please be aware that Multibeast is not used for HP ProBooks. There are no audio drivers suitable to the Probook laptops included in Multibeast. The Probook Installer is instead the sole post installation tool.

My fault; I deleted my post. For some reason, I didn't notice that this thread was in the laptop forum section. My apologies.

Is there a significant reason to update other than the driving need to be up to date? Does the intel graphics update matter?

Any news on 10.9.1. released today. Is it safe to update?

if we already have downloaded the v10.91 osx install app from app store, can that be used to update 10.9?
