Are you trying to boot into what was prior to motherboard fault a working installation on A SSD/HDD?

  • Can you confirm motherboard model and CPU/GPU
  • Check that UEFI/Bios settings are correct - they will have been reset after a repair in all likelihood.
  • What boot flags are you using?

So yeah all systems were woking fine b/F the crash - mobo issues

I was running mb 5.2 I believe / 10.8.4 like a boss

Ga-x79-ud5 / i7-3930k / gt640 / the recommended custo Mac Pro about a year ago

I wasn't using any flags b/F the mobo died - bios is F13 and I was using F10 I guess I will have to load that tomorrow and find out what's up.

Thanks

In theory you should not need to use boot flags if you can revert back to your original bios version and settings - Keep this thread up to date with information. :thumbup:

So i wanted to go back to BIOS F12 it's on F13W but it appears like it is locked. I cannot downgrade?

I wonder if Gigabyte has locked it.......?????

? Any takers?

So i still get to BootCacheControl:Unable to open bootcache.playlist no such file or dir

macz_swapon success

i changed the boot flags....my previous install used only

PCIRootUID=1
graphicsenabler=no
npci=0x3000
-v

I tried all the above but with a modification....

PCIRootUID=0
graphicsenabler=no
npci=0x3000
-v

This took me thru several pages of settings and passed the previos boot.cache error...

But only took me to the grey screen.....the one you see usually before you get the login screen in MAC o/s

i dunno off to a basketball game.......please feel free to chime in with pertinent info....

Or the random joke...if you will

Eureka......With the F13w BIOS

PCIRootUID=1
npci=0x3000
graphicsenabler=no
cpus=1
-v

suck-cess >>> !!!!!! thanks everybody....hope this helps some lowly sole ;) who is struggling...

Peach, Muave and Happy Meals!!!!!!

Kirk over and out :headbang:
