Dell XPS 18 - Is it possible?

I edited my previous post as you were preparing this one. I found a page that told you how you could "try it" instead of installing it when you booted to the USB. I'll be creating it from Mac though since that's where it's downloading to.

For now, I'm going to go run the USB3 patch you mentioned.

Patch installed... Now I just need:
1. Figure out what I'm missing from the power management installation procedure... (Any onsite on this as to what I'm missing? I did the first section as you had instructed.
2. Get sound working
3. Figure out what i'm missing to get the battery status working (I applied patch, but it's still not working. Conversation going on here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-laptop-support/116102-how-patch-dsdt-working-battery-status.html )

Everything else I believe is fixed.

Post your current ioreg and I'll look at what you have now. But to completely implement PM, you have to go through the process in the entire post, not just the "first section" (if I understand what you're saying there)..

I'll look at your patches and compare them to mine in a bit... In the meantime, you might install the debug version of ACPIBatteryManager.kext and see what the errors are from system.log (view via Console.app).

found it. Working on getting a kext utility downloaded as well.

Ok. Complete Noob question. How do you check for "errors" from "system.log"?

EDIT:
Nevermind.

Once installing the kext, I get the following:

NOV 16 11:17:59 elizabeths-pro com.apple.kextcache[13688]: WARNING - Invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext "/System/Library/Extensions/ACPIBatteryManager.kext"

That is normal. The kext is not signed.
