This silent Hackintosh looks awesome !!!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Congratulation!! Looks really nice...

Cant really post this in user builds as I have that sleep issue on the machine, but have now posted here and in Retail Cases, hope to inspire a few. :)

I think you can fix this easily: I also thought sleep was broken on my build, but in the end I just had to turn off the lock screen in System Preferences (So it doesn't ask the password at wake). This isn't a big deal, since it's not a laptop. Try it and keep us posted! Sleep works fine with it turned off in my case.

Right, I had a similar issue, when waking up from sleep it would just reboot. I found the fix in this forum, make sure you have "start automatically after power failure" ticked in energy settings. As crazy as it sounds, that was the fix for me and that other bloke that wrote it in the first place.

Awesome build I wish I saw this a few months ago! I wanted to build a silent build. My Hack is in a Corsair 350D. I think I will find the same fans to get mine even more quiet, mine is almost silent but I can still hear the 120mm fans.

Thanks for the great post!

Looks like fantastic silent hack, wouldn't label it as a mini replacement though, anything but mini.

Only because before I build this I had an actual genuine Mac Mini, but there was a few things that annoyed me - one of them the form factor restrictions.

But you are right, it can not be compared to a mini (which is also not the point), it was supposed to be better than a mini (and it is).

:)

I tried so many things and in the end it actually worked for a few days (turned off screen lock and patched my bios again).
Until the latest Mountain Lion update came (was it 10.8.5?) and my login is now broken, the machine starts fine but I'm presented with a blank white screen instead of login. Tried so many things to fix it and have now given up. I'm downgrading the CPU to a Intel G2030 and converting it to a fulltime silent Windows gaming PC. Will use my i3-3225 in a very close to genuine Mac Mini build I'm currently working on.
