[resolved] Z87X-UD5H unibeast 3.0.1 unable to install 10.9

Just assembled my parts and I'm trying to get to the 10.9 installer and I'm never actually reach the installer screen despite checking out every thread I can find here including trying to follow froghammer's set up.

I've set the BIOS options to:
XHCI Hand-off: Enabled
EHCI Hand-off: Enabled
Intel Virtualization: Disabled
XHCI Mode: Auto (not Smart Auto)
VT-d: Disabled
SATA ports were by default set to AHCI.

I've gone through several flag options, and combinations of:
-x, npci=0x3000, npci=0x2000, PCIRootUID=0/1 and GraphicsEnabler=No/Yes and still can't get to the installer.

I've also reformated and reinstalled the Unibeast 10.9 USB stick twice using Unibeast 3.0.1

when I use verbose mode I see these same errors constantly:
BootCacheControl: unable to open var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file or director
Previous Shutdown Cause: 5
SMC::smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap == NULL fall back to old SMC mode
hmm.. mismatch sizes 3100 vs 20
ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start-waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement)
-- power management may be incompatable or unsupported

There is usually a line or two after this but I can't see it because it flashes away too quickly to a gray screen which is replaced by dark blue/light bluish-white lines horizontally across the screen several seconds later.

Specs:
Z87X-UD5H
i5-4570
1x4gb PC3-12800 (Corsair Vengence)
120gb Samsung 840 EVO
Using onboard video with a DVI to HDMI currently.
USB keyboard and mouse, nothing else attached or pluged in.

GraphicsEnabler=No (just to make sure but i dont think you need that at all)

npci=0x3000, npci=0x2000, PCIRootUID=0/1 (NOTHING of that since i was able to boot too)

Intel Virtualization (you dont really need to disable this one just vt-d)

If you are not going to use a custom dsdt+ssdt yet then make sure to Generate cpu states and DropSSDT=yes
If you are using onboard graphics just to make sure use IGPEnabler=yes

and boot with -v -f -x

I don't like that DVI to HDMI you are using..Maybe try another cable like dvi to dvi (i had issues too)

SMC::smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap == NULL fall back to old SMC mode (this one i get too its ok i think)

ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start-waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPower Management)
-- power management may be incompatable or unsupported (use smbios imac 14,2)

btw when i boot my installer after verbose i get a white screen for maybe 30-40 sec and the i get to the installer...so be a little patient..

I'll add that I also am on the F7 bios, not the f4 which it shipped to me with, it has been updated.

Again, no combination of bootflags now including DropSSDT=yes, IGPEnabler=yes and -f seem to have an effect.

If I continue to wait after the grey screen comes back after the -v boot, it turns to this:

Hi,

I'd the same issue until I plugged my monitor with HDMI cable. I seems that the graphic adapter switch to a resolution that VGA connector doesn't support and switch to HDMI.

BR,

P.

Hum... Your motherboard only has USB3.0 ports on the rear panel. Be sure that you are installing from a USB2 port from the headers on the MB.

Good modding,
neil

Ok this is new. I switched from using the DVI port to the DisplayPort. Now after the -v boot it goes to grey, I see a mouse pointer for a momment before it turns into a spinning beachball. I can't move the mouse but the beachball does keep going.

There is no USB2 ports. The are all USB 3. The headers that came with the board, and the case were all USB3. It obviously has no problem seeing the Unibeast USB stick so I'm not sure what to think of that.

I've been able to sucessfully get to the installer and put 10.9 on the harddrive. The BIOS settings remained the same. I needed to set flags for GraphicsEnabler=No, -x -v ncpi=0x2000. Possibly most important, was I gave up on the DVI port. The monitor is now plugged in via a DisplayPort to DVI adapter and worked.

I'm just now experimenting with multibeast to see what will happen from here. I used a DSDT-free run with the intel LAN drivers and HW monitor installs.

I haven't been able to get a flag-free yet however. I apparently still require -v -x to boot right now.

It worked, once, and only once not in safemode. I restarted a second time it hung again.

This is where it keeps hanging.

Hanges on this line every boot that I dont do in safe mode. Any ideas?
