Guide to Installing Mavericks on HP Probook

I am able to follow step 4 for 4k/AF hard drive, which work only when I have 1 partition. since I have 750GB, I install Maverick on 350GB and other partition, 400GB, also format in Journaled...

If I have two partition, Step 4 is not working, it's not booting. But if I went in and delete the second partition, then perform Step 4 in the guide, then it boot...

Any ideas? Or Mac doesn't allow 2 partition?

Read the guide carefully. It states:
boot0 guide said:
NOTE: The above instructions are based on OS X being installed to a hard drive connected to SATA port 0. If you are using a different port you will need to get the drive device name from Disk Utility by selecting the volume and clicking Info.

In addition, if you have a different partition layout, you will need to make slight changes to the command. Use 'diskutil list' to determine the names of your various partitions to be certain you're copying the boot1h file to the correct PBR.

got it working, just connected an external monitor over HDMI then i could get into the setup and still got everything working.

Thanks for posting this... None of the boot flags were working for my 4730s. This finally got me into the installer.

I found culprit! It's the FAT32 that makes spotlight spam as hell! Unmount FAT32 fixes the problem.

Thanks, it work! Unmount or add to prevent list of Spotlight.

Yes you can install OS X to any partition, internal or caddy, or even on USB drive!

Hi RehabMan, I discovered that there is a "PtidDevc" SSDT table which contains device PTID. I see lots of temperature entry and sensor there, can we make use of the table or it's useless on OS X?

We already have all the "useful" (fan speed, heatsink temperature) sensors in our SMCD device. We disable PTID in ACPISensors.kext (FakeSMC PlugIn) for the Probook just because there is extra information that is duplicate and a bit ugly. Also DropSSDT makes this table go away...

After my computer goes to sleep automatically, when i log in again, the keyboard and mousepad stop working :s Is there any fix?

Make sure you created a proper patched DSDT by following the instructions in post #1. Otherwise post, ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html

Also, i can´t log in iMessage and facetime :( (i can´t live without this but...)

Try changing your password for your appleid.

The Wi-fi button, is always blue (but I can actually shutdown the wifi and turn it on).

That's just how it is.

And, is there a way to turn off bluetoth? Cuz it's always on when the wifi is on and there is an annoying message saying i don´t have a bluetooth keyboard and i have to close the program..

SysPrefs -> Bluetooth -> "Advanced". Uncheck the boxes.
