Hello,

got the update from Mountain Lion 10.8.2 to Mavericks 10.9 easy to work with unibeast/multibeast. Thanks to the developers.

My hardware-specs:

Board: P8Z68-V-PRO
Modified Board-BIOS since Mountain Lion installation from here: http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9
Grapic: Gainward Nvidia GeForce GTX560 TI Phantom (2GB)
OS-HDD: 128 GB SSD
User/Data-HDD: 2 TB HDD

Installer:
- Unibeast 3.0.0
- Multibeast V6.0.0

Boot-up installer with flags: GraphicsEnabler=yes PCIRootUID=0
After installation first boot-up OS via USB-Bootloader with flags: GraphicsEnabler=yes PCIRootUID=0

Start-up Multibeast with options:

EasyBeast
Audio Realtek with dsdt: alc 892
Trim Enabler
3rd Party eSata
Network: AppleIntelE1000
System: Patched AppleIntelCPUPowermanagementSystem
Definition: iMac 12,2

Misc: FakeSMC, USB 3 Universal (but problems with usb 3 )
Boot-Options: GraphicsEnabler=yes

Systemstability: Software working fine, but:

Problems: 1.) iMessage not working, can not connect with apple account.

2.) After some testing i have a problem with my TimeMachine Backups through an Sata-USB3 connector.
The backup fails every time i try with message it could not write to the directories.
Also there are some slow movements in the maverick GUI (Safari, Pages etc.) if the HDD on the Sata-USB3 was active and trying to make a time machine backup.
Current work around: Connecting the Sata-USB3 connector to an USB2 port solves the issues.

Anyone same problems with usb3?

regards

Lordprotector

Update 28/10/2013: Installed System > Patched AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement from Multibeast 6.0 because of some instabilities i encountered in the last days. After that stability seems to have increased.

Wow.

I have the same motherboard running on 10.8.2 but I can't seem to get the Mavericks installer to work - can you help me out? What BIOS settings do you have enabled/disabled? And what did you type into the installer to get it working? Did you install with the Nvidia card or built-in Intel?

I managed to get the Asmedia USB3 to work when I first set it up. I used the Caldigit USB 3.0 driver from Multibeast and enabled all of the Legacy USB settings in the BIOS.

same problem, same spec :( I am not able to boot mavericks installation

Hello,

if you have a running mac os 10.8.2 on your hardware i assume you already have the right modified bios for your mainboard as i stated in my hardware specs and done the same mods i did for 10.8.2.

For 10.9 i did no more bios modifications, just run the unibeast installer with the stated parameters from my first post in this thread.

Are you sure you have the same mainboard? There are new revisions out there (Gen3) which is not the same as the originally version i have. May be you have to do some more mods with Gen3-boards i'm not aware of?

I'm currently on my nvidia graphic card with a cinebench result of 55 fps on my resolution of 2560x1440.

keep trying and me posted.

regards

Yes I do. And no I don't use the Gen3 version.

Using a GTX 660 card I managed to successfully install and run Mavericks on my system with GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1 at bootup. I just added the UserDSDT-Free default setup and just added my audio (WithoutDSDT Realtek 892) and the appropriate kernel flags for bootup (GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1). For my USB 3 to work I had used the Caldigit USB fix before for my Asmedia USB3 chip, and had enabled all 3 USB-related settings under my Asus BIOS Legacy USB settings page.

For the iMessage problem I heard it's to with some FileNVRAM file not installed in your /Extras/modules folder.

which is Version in your bios do you use ?

Hey guys. How stable are your systems? I have a lots of problems doing some file movements browsing safari and generally having multiple windows and programs opened, mavericks freeze quite often. Restarting comp a few times an hour is really annoying and not usable. On Lion everything was good. Is it NullCPUPowerManagement from MB6.0 responsible for that? Everything seems to work fine (except USB 3.0) but the system is unstable.

@Lordprotector - Did you use Patched AppleIntelCPUPowermanagementSystem from MB 6.0 (both OSX.10.9.0 and Apple RTC Patch checked under "system" tab) instead of NullCPUPower.....under "misc" tab) ? I couldn't boot with that settings, so overwrite with NullCPU :(

Specs:

Board: P8Z68-V-PRO
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1024 MB
SSD 256 OS + 2TB Raid

Multibeast:

DSDT Free
Audio: WithoutDSDT Realtek 892
Disk: 3rd party Sata + Trim Enabler
Misc: FakeSMC v5.3.820 + FakeSMC v5.3.820 plugins + FakeSMC v5.3.820 HWMonitor + NullCPUPowerManagement
Network: AppleIntelE1000e
System: AppleRTC Patch for CMOS Reset
Bootloaders:Chimera v2.2.1
Boot Options: Basic Boot Options + Generate CPU States + GraphiscEnabler=yes + Hibernate Mode - Desktop + Use KernelCache
System Definition: Mac Pro 3,1

I have two similar setups -- P8Z68V-PRO without a graphics card, and P8Z68-V with a GeForce GTS 450. I cannot reach the installer with the UniBeast-created Mavericks USB on either. When the system is finished loading the Extensions the machine reboots by itself. Also, on the second setup I have a working ML install but I cannot boot in safe mode (-x gets the machine to reboot by itself). Any thoughts?

EDIT

I had a FAT partition alongside my installer partition on the USB stick. When I reformatted the former to an HFS partition I was able to boot and install just fine.

My functioning setup:

NO Easybeast (i.e. no EVOReboot)
FakeSMC
Chimera
Basic Boot Options + GraphicsEnabler=Yes
ALC 892
NullCPUPowerManagement
AppleIntelE1000
USB 3 (not tested)
3rd party eSATA (not tested)
Mac Pro 3,1 system profile

Funny thing I noticed: when using the installer USB boot loader to boot into the newly-installed system, before doing any MultiBeast stuff, Ethernet and USB3 work OOB. As soon as I do the most basic functioning setup on MultiBeast, however, Ethernet and USB3 are gone unless I specifically install the respective kexts. Does anyone know the rationale behind this?

Thanks guys. I just intalled Mavericks from scratch with this tips (freeDSDT + multibeast tunning) and worked fine.
USB 3 isn't working yet. I do not tryed the "USB 3 Universal by Zenith432" from multibeast.

I go look for that "Caldigit USB fix"...

Anyone found another method?
