Mavericks: HDMI Audio - AppleHDA

Thanks toleda, you helped me a long time ago with my DSDT. But I forgot to back it up before overriding and spent almost the whole day trying to remember how to patch it again. But success in all 3 machines.

I'm not sure if you would like to update the guide on the first post to include X58, but I have a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Award motherboard with Intel® X58 Express Chipset and I just followed the instructions for series 5 and it works great.

Also maybe to clarify on step 3 of requirements that is not just motherboards made by Intel, but other brands also like Gigabyte etc. as long as they have the same chipset series. I was confused about that all day wondering how I got to do it before on Lion, because I have a Gigabyte board and not an Intel.

Once I figured out how to use the new tools, it was a matter of changing the display address you helped me with before and success.

Thanks again.

The Intel reference is for the chip set, not the motherboard manufacturer. The alternative to the Intel chipset is AMD and the techniques discussed do not work on AMD. Enjoy.

Thanks for your wonderful work toleda :)

Toleda,

I have 3 screens running, one connected via HDMI and two connected via DVI to HDMI. I notice I will see HDMI sound recognized in the sound preferences from only two of the displays at a time.

For example if the two DVI's are connected to my monitor along with the HDMI, I only see the sound from the DVI screen recognized in sound perferences. If one of the DVI's is not connected, I see the sound from the HDMI and DVI.

Is this normal?

Hi guys,

after a lot of trial and error, I'll try to find my luck here.

I tried various options from toleda's guide. Tried a bunch of different DSDT edits and even the SSDT option.
Nothing worked so far. My onboard sound is working great, but my HDMI doesn't.
I installed the Realtek ALC892 kext's from MultiBeast and I also deleted the HDAEnabler kext.

DPCI Manager is showing 2 audio devices: "Realtek ALC892" and "ATI R6XX HDMI"

My Specs:
Core i3 2100
ASUS P8P67-m Pro B3, 3602
XFX Radeon HD 6870 Black Edition
OS X 10.9

My DSDTs and IOReg are attached.

Thanks in advance.
