Guide to Installing Mavericks on HP Probook

Hey rehabman

I don't understand this bit (go easy on me I'm a noob)

So, copy the Mini-SSDT-DualLink.aml from your Downloads to the clipboard,

What is a "Mini-SSDT-DualLink.aml???????? Why would this be in my downloads? Do I need to download one? Generate one? Where do I pull this thing out off??

This bit I'm okay with...

Read the guide carefully.

Do you see Chameleon at all? What if you press a key while it is waiting...??

No Chameleon is completely gone somehow. If I don't have the installer I cannot access either partition. Tried reinstalling it using the wizard. It tells me it is installed but still get a message telling me there is no OS on the harddrive.

Had the exact same issue.

Did a clean install on an old drive (avoid 4k/AF issue) with 2 partitions (Lion and Mavs). Everything was fine. Tried to clone Mavs to my Intel 520 (single partition) and then I got the no OS (3F0) error.

Tried to reinstall Chameleon and to no avail. Repair in disk util didnt work either. Even a restore to Lion from my old hdd didnt fix it. The only solution was clean reinstalling Mavericks and now its fine.

10.9 fully working on my 4330s. Thanks RM for the guide and all involved in the PBI

Follow the guide carefully.

btw I installed directly to my Intel 520 and didnt get any 4k/AF boot issues (remember I had problems with Lion/ML)

Nice upgrade but my machine definitely runs hotter than Lion. Activity monitor shows 145 processes while i used to get 68 on Lion. I hope it stabilizes out.

Unfortunately I did try to disable and enable WiFi device only :( For the next time I will be more experienced ;)

Thank you once again, Petr

Awesome, thank you...

Thanks a lot. Subject - HP DV7 6053-er Core i 7, 8 GB RAM, Intel3000. The first attempt was not successful. The installation hanged. Then I carefully read the instruction and that guided me to the right direction. I placed my current DSDT.aml from M.Lion into /Extra on the flashdrive. The install screen was reached finally. After that everything was casual. Many many thanks go to RehabMan.

I had to have a usb mouse plugged in since my keyboard and mouse did not work after unibeast boots on 450 probook

cannot get into Installer.
after the Spinning Wheel there is the black Screen and nothing happens, waited for 20 minutes.
tried several bootflags, other ports, other sticks, other ssdt, but nothing works:banghead:

Thanks a lot,
Maverick's running like a charm on my Probook 4530s...
Good Job!

i just finished installing Mavericks on my HP 4530s with an i7-2670QM processor. Other than having to remove and reinstall VirtualBox 4.3 to get my Win7 VM to work properly, the upgrade went smoothly. The only "anomaly" I see right now is that the lowest power state of my processor is now 11x instead of the normal 8x. Anybody have any ideas why this may be occurring? Otherwise, the CPU seems to be cycling normally through various p-states deep depending on load. FWIW, I see this behavior whether I use the new SSDT generated by Probook Installer after Mavericks installation, or the SSDT I generated under Mountain Lion.

Thanks,
-bth
