@SquadSeven

I have the same CPU and MOBO as yours. My GPU is GTX 760 2GB

Thank you for all the detailed set up on your build. I went back and redid everything starting from the motherboard and almost everything worked as expected. Additionally I checked Drivers&Bootloaders > Drivers > Audio > Without DSDT > ALC### in Multibeast, otherwise audio won't work.

I'm having a problem with the mouse and keyboard, sometimes they freeze after boot and I need to reboot. I haven't pointed out what is the problem exactly but booting with -v seems to make things work.

So far everything seems to work: AfterEffects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Painter, Notes, Mail, Remainders, Contacts, VLC, Steam, Maya, iMessages is not working. So I would say it went all good :)

Thank you!

Hey! Glad your build works! I did my guide using an older version of multibeast...5.4.3 wasnt available at that time so there was an audio workaround. Looks like they've fixed it in 5.5.3! I've added that into the guide to let people know :D

What keyboard and mouse are you using? I've never had problems with my keyboard and mouse and they're not designed to be mac-compatible to begin with. I'm using a keyboard from the logitech k520 combo and an Armageddon Alien G7 II and they work flawlessly. Try smoothmouse for osx to see if that fixes your mouse issues. What keyboard issues do you have?

As for the imessage, hackintoshs are known not to work with iMessage correctly although I've stumbled upon solutions every now and then. Try googling it or looking it up on the forums. This should be a good place to start: http://www.tonymacx86.com/337-troubleshooting-imessage-login-issues.html

I'm using a wireless Plexgear, comes with a usb for the connection. It worked even on the MOBO set up.
I also tries with a Genius and other random non-brand mouses. I don't think its the mouse itself, and like i mentioned, this error pops in and out randomly, or so it appears.

Thanks for the Messages advice I'll give it a shot :)

I've built a similar machine (ga-z87x-oc + i7 4771 + gtx780 asus 3gb) but I've freezing problem when the pc work with little software, like safari, mail and internet.

In the logs there is a problem with the kext of video card, but the Intel 4600 is recognized perfectly such as the GTX780. I've installed the ultimate original kext NVIDIA from the site, but I've the same problem.

I don't know what I do...

Thanks (sorry for my English, I'm Italian)

Hello. I don't know what's wrong, maybe you could try asking in other Forum section where someone will have the same motherboard as you.

Sorry.

Thanks for the post.
I've got a problem though; when I try to update the bios it says: Warning File size is incorrect.
I can get in to the OS in safe mode. Is there a way to update the BIOS from there?

Thanks!

Hi! I know this is very troublesome but its way safer and easier to update the BIOS via windows. So just install Windows then go to this page to download the .exe to update the BIOS. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4481#bios

I have no idea how to update the BIOS from OS X though.

Hope that helped.

Thanks for you swift replies.

I skipped the BIOS update and went right along with the install. Everything worked fine. (Thanks to the multibeast settings of the initiator of this thread.) Everything but the audio... After I installed the kext neither my mouse nor my keyboard would react when I was at the welcome-screen. They did in safe mode and I tried to repair it following some of Toleda's posts but to no avail.

Reinstalling as we speak. The up side is that know what to write in the terminal after 'boot0:error' by heart by now!

ETA; fully functional now!
