FWIW, Mavericks was just as easy - current Multibeast took case of audio, network (atheros), and trim patch - on GA-Z77X-UD5H. With two graphics cards, HD 5870 and HD 7870, 3 monitors - everything identified correctly. A great update to be sure!

It break my Airport function (using Atheros 9285 based card),

so need to revert to previous IO80211Family.kext

else, everything is Okay,

I installed, said the Update Failed. I'm on 10.8.5 12F45. Had to reinstall Audio via Multibeast, it said it failed, however, I now have audio...queue the strange music...

Same here. The install went OK, but got messages after the Apple updates saying the install failed and then after reinstalling the drivers with Multibeast 5.5.2 also got a message from the installer saying it failed. It didn't. This looks like a problem I'll have to research.

Quite a problematic update this ...

Same as a few other people mention, the install fails, as does a subsequent MultiBeast update, however the software does install ok.

Most immediate and noticeable problem, most USB ports are non-functioning with disk drives attached.

On my Gigabyte board the two for mouse and keyboard work fine and show up in System Information.

The rest, USB2 and USB3 appear dead.

I plugged in my trusty Lexar 4GB memory stick and it didn't mount. Neither did a Kingston 16GB one or my independently-powered WD 500GB external storage drive.

On checking with Disk Utility they are certainly there but greyed-out.

Running Repair on them checks and verifies all is ok BUT they remain greyed-out and otherwise invisible.

(USB sticks are formatted FAT32 and the WD 500GB is two partitions: FAT32 and ExFAT. Checked on a Windows PC and they are fine).

Also notice the system disk now appears in the Spotlight/Privacy panel of System Preferences. This is where you can include disks not to be indexed. I hadn't put it there.

So, not only does the Mac not wake from sleep any more but USB is all but gone.

A roll-back to 10.8.3 has been performed and everything is back to normal.

Very confusing.

:(

Anyone having issues with NTFS after the update? Looks like the update killed my NTFS.

Same here, OSX won't mount my NTFS drives (using Paragon NTFS). Anyone got a solution?

Why is it that my USB 3.0 ports stopped working properly? The device connects only when plugged in during startup. Also unsure whether it runs at USB 3.0 speed.

I have the same symptoms. Front ports of USB 3.0 of my Z77-DS3H work fine upon booting with my Apple Wireless Keyboard / Belkin USB Bluetooth adapter but if I unplug any USB adapter from my USB 3.0 ports, they don't work again. This happens for either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 devices. Strangely if I plug the same Belkin USB adapter into a USB 2.0 rear port, it works 100% of the time, hotplug is perfect, so it isn't a Bluetooth issue, its a USB 3.0 issue. Plug and play is broken somehow after initial boot.

Any thoughts on how to get it working again? It was working fine in 10.8.5 before this Supplemental Update.

Thanks!

I also have the USB 3.0 ports working on boot but if you unplug and replug in any device into a USB 3.0 port (either USB2 or USB3) it isn't picked up and hotplug fails. So either reboot or use a USB2.0 port. Annoying but I'm sure its a minor fix. Any thoughts?
