I am able to sync my notes & calendars through iCloud and I have my Apple ID associated with my user account, but I cannot use iTunes or the App Store.

When I try to buy/install an app from the App Store, I get small red text under my Apple ID that says "An unknown error has occurred". Clicking the "Store" menu, it looks like I'm signed in. (It gives me "Sign Out" and "View my account" with my apple ID showing afterwards as menu options)

When I first launch iTunes, I get "An unknown error occurred (-50)."

If I try to sign in from iTunes, I get "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (5002). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."

I get the same error if I try to authenticate in any way with my Apple ID. (Authorize this computer for example)

Thoughts? Are there any diagnostic tools I can run to give you a more comprehensive error log?

Thanks in advance...

Update: Adding the PCIRootUDI=1 flag did not resolve it either. My research so far indicated that it could be due to some check that Apple does based on the ethernet/MAC address to validate if it's an actual Apple device or not.. Any ideas?

Same here for a couple of weeks now. I have tried everything I can find to no avail.

Did you guys get this fixed yet? It has to to with your ethernet controller configuration.

Hi guys, have you tried this?

Go to Network in System Preferences, and delete all of your connections, click apply.

Go to your boot drive, then Library\Preferences\SystemConfiguration and delete NetworkInterfaces.plist. Empty the trash and reboot

Then go back to Network in Sys Preferences and add your ethernet adapter first and click apply. Try logging in now

Any suggestions

This worked for me. I was fighting this for a few days and could not find anything usefull until this. Thanks to Tonymac for a few successful builds and saving about $2,000 on the cost of a G5. This website rocks!
