Your DSDT does not have the new version of the AR9285 patch. Make sure you are using the latest ProBook Installer, as the guide advises, to apply the patch. Older versions have an older version of the patch, not compatible with 10.8.5.

Try setting the resolution in org.chameleon.boot.plist:
Code:
	<key>Graphics Mode</key>
	<string>1920x1080x32</string>

thanks for the fast reply, i have added the string to my org.chameleon.boot.plist but unfortunately that did not solve my resolution problem. I have ran the installer again (6.1) and reapplied the atheros patch still no luck. Thanks

Post your org.chameleon.Boot.plist for verification.

Learn to read more carefully. You must use the latest ProBook Installer (which is not 6.1).

2. Run philip_petev's Probook Installer (version 6.1.5 or greater),

If you used 6.1 post-update to 10.8.5, you now have a mix of 10.8.4 kexts and 10.8.5 system. Restore your original 10.8.5 vanilla kexts (using the backups in Installer Backups on your desktop), then re-run the correct version of the ProBook Installer (currently 6.1.6).

Did that take care of you resolution problem too?

Not quite, when i said earlier that i added the string to my org.chameleon.boot.plist it did not save as i did not have permission to change but i fixed permissions and added the string and all is fine now. Thank you

I updated to 10.8.5....boots, have sound, picture and everything, except for WiFi. I had everything working just fine before the update. I cant even see any networks, or even that the wifi card is on. Any ideas or solutions?? I have a 4530s, stock except a SSD swap out, worked fine for months, now no wifi connectivity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also had this problem. I resolved it by re-running the installer (6.1.6) a second time, this time selecting only the Atheros patch. Don't know why it didn't install the first time though.

My guess is that the first time you attempted to select all the DSDT options with an already patched DSDT in place. And that doesn't work... The selections in the first patch group in the DSDT options must be applied only to an unpatched DSDT. If you attempt it, you end up with warning.txt on your desktop.

If you read the instructions carefully, you see that they say to select only the AR9285 patch.

Please note the 10.8.5 supplemental update: http://www.tonymacx86.com/391-os-x-10-8-5-supplemental-update-1-0.html

This update contains an updated AppleHDA, so you will need to install your "OS X Support Kexts" using the ProBook Installer (version 6.1.6 or newer) after rebooting as you'll notice you've lost audio.

Essentially, the procedure is the same as post update to 10.8.5. See post #1.
