For anyone interested in HD2500 graphics, the Desktop CPUs w/ HD2500 are IvyBridge i3 + i5 chips. Here's a chart of the I5 models. Just ignore the one in the list with HD4000. If you can afford a chip with HD4000, go for that for the best igfx performance. i3 examples are i3-3210, i3-3220 etc. They all end in 0 not 5.



The Celeron and Pentium line of IB chips don't have the HD2500 graphics just the "Intel HD" graphics. A rather vague description.

Simple question, but no definitive answer anywhere:

Is it possible to enable HDxxxx with no monitor connected to it? With one monitor connected only to PCIE? That could unlock AirPlay functionality supposedly.

Yes, that is why I create IGPEnabler so you can use GraphicsEnabler=no for Fermi cards but still have the IGP enabled.

Right after I gave in and bought a dedicated graphics card, too!
Maybe I should clone my install and see if I can get the HD2500 to work.

How did you did it i also have gt 640 but hd 2500 graphics, did you just overwrited chimera??
i want 640 as primary

Chimera 2.01 works on my system, but when i install 2.1.2 or the recent 2.2 the system doesn't boot. It hangs with the apple logo.
As soon as i reinstall 2.01 it runs fine again.
