So I've had my setup working for about two years now, and the only thing that hasn't worked yet are the webcam and microphone. I've got Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and a DP55WB mobo. If any other specs are needed, I'll gladly help, but the computer won't even recognize that a mic or camera are plugged in.

Thanks for your help, everyone.

Need to know what type of hardware you have

As to the Mic - have you plugged it into the rear mic jack on the backside of the computer.

You may need to use the Control Panel to see it. Also test this w Windows.

Webcam may need some software for it - does the vendor of the Camera make software / kexts for OSX,.

I have tried plugging the mic into the red port in back of the mobo, and have checked all possible options in System Preferences.
I also updated my system specs on my account.
It's fine on Windows.

Is there a Multibeast option I can install?

Thanks for updating your profile - its easy to see your main hardware now. Which desktop webcam do you have? Is it one of the Logitech's, most of them seem to work in one way or another although they do not all seem to work.

If you can get the video working using drivers from the manufacturer, then the audio can be solved using one of these : http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/98115-simple-plug-n-play-usb-audio-device-os-x.html

We must remember that OSX Snow Leo has been off production for sometime now and as these newer Video Camera circuit's inside the camera may not be supported by OSX SL.

So again this is up to the maker of the Hardware as to if they will support Snow Leo. So finding out what supports it is imperative.
