i m a night to be spent to get the hd 7870 work is finally managed to get the card. Installed

With chim 2.1.1 and reboot trick my card is recognized. But now my question is how can I get sound from the HDMI port on the card

How many monitors are you using? I'm trying to verify if 3 will work ?

Thank you.

I've got 4 (sometimes 5) monitors running at once.
3 or 4 on my 7970 and 1 on my HD 4000. If you have a monitor on the HD 4000 (or some other fully supported graphics card) and are using a version of Chimera with 1.11.1 r1394 graphics detection (the newest version {2.1 I believe} or version 1.11.1 r1394), you won't need the sleep or rotating trick for the Radeon HD 7xxx.

Will a R7850 also work ? Sorry' I'm just looking for a confirmation.

This is what I managed to get. Fully working (except for sleep trick at login screen). Plays full 1080p MKV files with VLC no stuttering and sound in sync.
This is using the usual Unibeast install method with the 10.8.4 image from the AppStore.
The whole serial number thing for iCloud hasnt been addressed yet.

Gigabyte H61M-S2PV
ATI 7850 2G OC (DVI, HDMI not tested)
Intel Core i3 2120 3.3Ghz
Kingston 120G SSD
Belkin Surf Micro N150 USB WiFi

On the newest Gigabyte motherboards that use the UEFI standard for their BIOS, you need to set "Init Display First" as "IGFX" (which stands for integrated graphics), and set "Internal Graphics" as "Disabled".

Booted from USB stick with the bootflag for verbose. To my surprise went straight to the installer. Installed as usual, no hickups.
Rebooted off the USB stick but into the new OSX install. Run Multibeast.

Selected only DDST-free install. Continue.
Once this was done I installed Chimera 2.1.1
Then rebooted

At this point it booted on its own to the desktop. I think I might have had the GraphicsEnabler=No set to install the kexts.
Instaled kexts for (as attached)

ATI 7850 10.8.4 modified
Audio (ALC887a) modified
USB WiFi

Rebooted. Had to put the computer to sleep and wake it and then set the boot.plist options as per screenshot.
But all seems well otherwise.

Hello guys, I'm stuck.

I manage to get to desktop, but the only screen that works is the internal graphics4000 (DVI)
and not my external GPU (HDMI) black screen.
However in syst preferences my GPU is there, it doesn't detect a monitor.

GPU is Gigabyte R785OC 2GB
MB Gigabyte Z77-ud3h

I have modified the .kext with the ones from page 2 of this post

My settings are Internal Graphic on Auto. GraphicsEnabler=Yes.

I know these are not the settings suggested. However I have tried all combinations of these settings and they each came up with their own errors (blackscreen freeze, greyscreen with mouse on top right corner freeze, boot freeze at "sound assertion..." and kernel panic). I have each combination written down with its relative error .

When I Disable Internal graphics I cannot set IGFX as primary display (it changes to AUTO on its own), and the only way it boots is with unibeastUSB, if I try and boot from HDD it freezes on Boot0 with a bunch of hieroglyphics following. In any case I don't get to desktop.

Help Please!!!

Hello,

I'm trying to get my Sapphire HD 7790 2GB OC working in 10.8.4 (this model is still unconfirmed apparently, and since it's the newest model in the HD 7xxx range, I really hope that it's supported)... The strange thing (or perhaps not) is that video output has worked from the start (I guess it's using a generic driver) and I've been able to install Mountain Lion without having to use/switch to my onboard HD3000..

Anyway, I've tried to install the AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext and ATI7000Controller.kext using KextBeast by putting them on the desktop, running KextBeast and then rebooting, but that didn't seem to work.. Here's the current System Information output:

Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 8 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x665c
Revision ID: 0x0000
Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded

I'm still new to osx86, and hoping that someone can help me figure out if this card is supported with the new drivers and what I have to do to get it running.

Thanks!

Hey guys, I have this card: Gigabyte GV-R785OC-2GD (OC) which is listed as working on the front page. However, I can't get it to work. I don't have an intergrated gfx card but I thought that wasn't necessary. I got the fb-rotate trick installed and I can get to the white screen but after that nothing. Any ideas if it's possible to get the card to work?

Thanks.
