Guide to Installing Mountain Lion on HP Probook

hi guys

I am new to this, have been reading as much as I could about SL & ML on a 4540s /Intel Core i3 2.4Ghz 3110M 3rd Gen.
But I can't seem to understand if usb 3 speeds and HDMI out with audio work using the latest probook installer.
I own copies of SL and ML and was wondering wich you recommend. I am making a FCP7 edit station.

thank you so much for any answers, I am in your debt.

SL does not support Ivy Bridge. So that answers that question.

I believe USB3 and HDMI out + audio work on 4x40s with current ProBook Installer v6.1.

AH!

great to hear USB 3 and HDMI out work!

Thank you so much, will let you know how it goes.

Warm regards,

One more thing,

Could you tell me where to find the info on how to make my 4540s dual or even triple bootable?
My machine already has windows 7 installed on it, can I install ML (and later even ubuntu) 'over' it?
Would like to understand the specific order of things to make it dual or triple bootable.

hi,
i've got a 4530s with atheros card, i'm trying to install ML but i'm stuck at boot at point 7. of the guide... i've set the bios (F.09) disabling the ATI 6490M, virtualization was already not checked, but it boot automatically Win 7 Pro. I tried to set the bios to default but with no success. i also tried to enable Uefi bios support but it didn't help. i choose to boot from the usb stick (sandisk 16gb partitioned: 1 of 8gb with unibeast, the other not allocated).
another question: i've got the ML.app installer in another iMac. i installed unibeast and i copied the HP probook installer, but the question is: when i have to "use" the .app installer? o_O have i got to copy it in the usb stick or what else?
thanks in advance and sorry for my english :p

the current updated bios version is f.40 for your probook. any reason why you havent updated?

Make sure you used MBR partitioning on the stick and formatted your USB stick partition as HFS+J as per instructions.

You don't really "use" the .app installer. You use the USB stick. Unibeast copies the relevant portions for you.

BIOS update recommended prior to install (while you still have Win7 on it).

nothing to do with it...

this is what i did:
...
install of Unibeast checking only "laptop support",

You must select both "Laptop Support" and "Mac App Store Mountain Lion - 10.8"

hi, i've tried to download the .app from the store but i cannot complete the purchase because my imac is not compatible with Mountain Lion (core 2 duo). i've got the original dvd of Leopard, is there any way to be able to install Mountain Lion on my Probook?

Leopard won't help you.

You have two choices:

Purchase a Snow Leopard DVD from the Apple Store. Install Snow Leopard far enough to log into the App Store and purchase Mountain Lion.
-or-
Borrow a Mac (friend/family) that is compatible with Mountain Lion and purchase it using that computer. Also, use it to make Unibeast USB.
