HP ProBook Installer 6.1 (beta): Ivy bridge support

1. Yes, it works under windows.

2. Bios is F20.

3. Yes, I followed the guide.

4. I don't know which bios setting I have to check.

Try the latest GenericUSBXHCI from Zenith432. There are some updates he's done that I haven't yet picked up...

strange. i'm also working on a fresh install, and usb3 storage appears to be working.

I can see you are using the latest generic usb 3 kext from zenith.

maybe reset your bios to defaults?

anything else plugged into your laptop when the usb3 is plugged in?

can you describe what was the laptop doing (with the usb3) before it happens the kp?

maybe clean your usb3 cable plug?

your usb3 device needs a firmware update?

Only usb 3.0 was plugged.

I reset my bios to default but it still has same problem.

When I plugged external hard drive, my 4530s was just freezed.

And then when I reboot laptop with plugged usb 3.0, it showed kernel panic.

I also have Gigabyte H61N-USB3 + 10.8.3 and same external hard drive works well through usb 3.0.

Go to /S/L/Displays/Overrides, find the folder for your display (it should be the latest created, check the date of creation), open the file inside the folder with a text editor of choice (it's pure xml plist) and change the value of the corresponding key from "Built-in ProBook..." to whatever you want.

philip, have you already an estimated release date for the next PBI version?

Thanks!

Beta 15 is up!

Please, test as much OS X support options as you can, because all of them contain the new AppleHDA fixes (the volume slider and the ambient noise option).

b15 feedback. initial impressions.

it appears to work overall. a bit more snappier. fan noise is bit higher and louder. do like the extra brightness ( i've always chosen 100%)

especially in safari, less of the random 'freeze' thing, even when just browsing one site, and the only app open.

anything else will update this post later.
